Joint Protectors

When people post pictures of their cue, I'll often see those cool wood grain joint protectors. Does anyone know where to purchase them? I've included a photo from an old Schon brochure for an example of what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance.

There are tons and tons of them out there in all kinds of woods and designs. Every billiards retailer sells them. Google search for "wood joint protectors" and you will find more than you could see if you spent all day.

And to see a bunch of pictures of some quickly just click on "images" from the above search--shortcut linked below.

Actually, those in the schon brochure seem pretty simple in design. You sure that's what you want?

Anyway, here's the set Jim Baxter made for my Josey. I supplied the pennies. I'm still very pleased with the results.

Thanks for the responses. I'm not looking for fancy jp's, but I'm looking for that particular shape in the brochure, which I'm having trouble finding by doing a google/eBay search. Admittedly I'm being picky, I bought a cue that had those and I like them. I don't believe Schon makes them anymore, but I assumed others do.

Jim could easily turn those for you.

Here’s a pic of the Jim Baxter style. He does a great job getting close to original style. On the left is an original Schön set, and the right is a set made by Jim. That cue has a radial pin, so the butt protector is long. That’s an extra benefit of Jim’s caps - almost any thread is possible.

Also, you’ll sometimes see folks selling the original Schön caps from time to time.

Good luck on the hunt!
