In my opinion his run ended when he walked away. Can a contender quit for the day whenever he feels a little tired or distracted and come back the next day refreshed and ready? That's not 14.1.

I agree.

If you are feeling a little “shaky” in your stroke, can you quit for the day, get a night’s sleep, get up and have breakfast, hit a bunch of balls giving lessons, and then come back to the table and pretend it is a “continuous” run?

I don't know that there are any hard and fast rules for something like this, it's really never been done before -- multiple guys going for a high run.

Of course, leave it to Earl to create a "situation," lol. Anyways, it is what it is and if he runs 627 we can all go out and buy ourselves several of those 40 gallon sized bags of popcorn and start a new multi-hundred page thread about whether it was legit or not.

this is the first post you've written that i can somewhat agree with. to me, seeing earl play is entertainment more than straight pool indulgement. hope for ruslan to return soon

I believe Ruslan had some problem getting a vaccine before coming over but the latest I've heard is that he will be in the US soon (if not already) and wants another go.

To put it differently, what I meant by the question is: people are saying Earl is playing straight pool incorrectly in the last few days. Has he always played straight pool this way? I haven’t watched enough of him playing straight pool in the past to know

Sorry, but if you were able to run 480 balls in your past, then you knew how to play the rack patterns to get that high, and no matter how mimics time has passed by, you DON'T forget how the patterns work. Today's Earl, is shooting balls to save face, NOT to run racks. Today's Earl can't get past 200 balls yet, let alone threaten the record of 626😅🤣🤣

I wouldn't worry about it, unless Earl's getting paid to run balls, he'll be quiting shortly. By the fact that he giving lessons instead of running balls, and quiting instead of finishing out a run, is showing all the signs of being to distracted/frustrated to continue on much longer.
