Close Mach3 and re-open it again.
There is no other way out in order for Mach to respond, it also happened to me several times. Write down the coordinates before you close Mach 3, when you reopen Mach 3 enter the coordinates and press enter, pay attention if it is negative or positive value and press enter. You might be able to tell it to GOTOZERO and you will have to start your Job from the beginning.
I quit using Mach3 and anything with a parallel port, learned from the mistakes.
I use CNC12 from Centroid with Clearpath closed steppers and an Acorn controller and use the network port with a quality shielded cable.

I have two machines with parallel ports and gecko boxes running Mach3 and they will sit and wait until the lord returns for their next command.

My third machine a chinese router table with with mach 3, who knows what kind of controller and a USB interface will go to hell and require restarting if you walk away for a few hours or overnight. But it's very reliable if you keep working it without a long pause. It's never went haywire in the middle of a task.

Uninstall all programs you don't need in that PC. Anything that ties the printer port temporarily can disconnect your mach 3.
If you don't have homing switches, get them. Editing the Ref All button really makes life easier .

What xml file was causing the issues? Normally my router runs just fine, no matter how long the file path. Occasionally it has locked up and required a reboot of the whole system.

Talk to Gecko. And most likely you may need to download .xml file and may need to reload mach3 ,pretty much what I did and it worked for me.

You need to send it to mach3 then open it. Best bet is to call Gecko
