I have only been to NPR once. I’m not the type to mix it up with the heavy's on that side. Still this thread was funny and interesting with much info.

I hope Denis will get it sorted out and with Jay and others helping out I bet they will find a way.

Either way when Robocop returns he will be a force.

Read some WW2 history. Some UGLY shit went down. China, Korea, Indochina('Nam now) were all basically slave labor for the Japanese. They have long memories. Look up 'Unit 731, Harbin China'. Japan's chem/biol. warfare research center. True horrors. Even worse is the US gave a lot of the scientists there immunity to gain info during Cold War. Some sick shit.

For years now I’ve done a trip to Sitka, Alaska and then the last few years to BC to go salmon fishing. (Pre Covid). On the last trip to Langara Island in BC we had a guy cancel at the last minute due to a family emergency. And by last minute I mean the day we were flying to Vancouver. The way it works is this guy is still responsible for paying his cut or has to get someone else to pay and take his spot. He couldn’t find anyone so he had his adult son join us as a gift to him. So he flew across the country with 9 guys he never met and a few he barely knew to go salmon fishing. We really didn’t think to much about it when we all landed and had to clear customs. I was standing behind him when we cleared and here’s how it went-

Customs Agent- what are you doing coming to Canada?

Kid- I’m going fishing.

CA- where?

Kid- I have no idea.

CA- Who are you fishing with?

Kid- 11 of my dads drunk buddies but I only know one of their names. And I met the rest of them on the plane.

Like idiots we never thought to give the guy an itenerary and he never asked for one. Took him half an hour to clear customs. Mostly because all the agents were laughing about it and had to find another agent to tell before they let him through.

To answer your question. I don’t know if the house ever took care of the girls for their “work”. I suppose in the nose bleed games where they are taking $30k/night a table they might. But that’s a guess. Far as I know the players pay the girls. As for “upstairs” rates your guess is good as mine. Probably $500-$1000

The house I went to with 3 tables had a upstairs and what happened up there is kinda clear. I’m not sure all girls were “upstairs” girls-I didn’t ask. There was 7-8-9 girls there and half were HOT. Oddly enough the hottest one was the nicest one-usually it’s the opposite.

Some games I know for a fact the girls are ornaments and get drinks and massage only. Nothing “upstairs”.

I’ve also heard some games cap the girls to $1000/night so the ecosystem doesn’t bleed too much $. So anything over $1000 the girls have to give the rest of their $ to the operator-which would slow down “upstairs” action. And the $ stays with the gamblers and eventually the rake.

The reason I was there at the poker house was to play Backgammon. Which I did in a side room for a couple hours. Coincidentally I knew about 3 guys at that house from the gambling world.

I don’t play poker at all and have never played poker. Just seen and spoke to a few home game operators. The girls are not at the low stakes games. The $300-$1000 capped buy in games have zero girls. Those are social games.

I owned a piece of a licensed social club in 2016-2017 and we would lease the room to poker game operators with their staff and players. We got $1000-$1500 flat rate(was legal). Occasionally they would bring one girl to serve and look at. That was a $2000 uncapped buy-in game. There was $50k in play on the table usually. No massage. We didn’t have any games bigger. Was in a commercial building.

So the girls are there and depending on the operator and limit and setting determines what the girls will and won’t do.

I knew a guy who was engaged to a woman from Vancouver. They decided to live there instead of here in CA. Canada wouldn't allow him entry for two years due to a DUI on his record.

I've transported guns through Canada travelling from Alaska to the lower 48. They put a seal on them and remove it when you cross back into the USA. I also know a guy who was turned around for a DUI, (actually several). My last couple trips have been on motorcycles and they just kinda nodded us through after looking at passports.

Thirty-two teams of two players each are invited to that one. However, other than the host nation, each country gets just one team. WPA rankings have become somewhat ridiculous, as they don't protect those that opted to miss events due to COVID or COVID-related fears of international travel. At present, by WPA Ranking, Carlo Biado is the highest ranked Filippino by virtue of his win at the US Open and Roberto Gomez is ranked two spots higher than Dennis Orcullo, so even this invitation is uncertain.

I really hope Dennis has an advocate that can help him gain entry into the Predator LCP, the World Pool Masters and the World Cup of Pool, because we all know he's worthy of those invitations.

You may be on to something about action matches. Perhaps Dennis will be able to play some action matches in Europe with Americans who go there for major events. Americans tend to go to Asia only for the China Open and the All-Japan, but those might be other occasions during which action matches can be arranged. That's all to be determined.

He got nailed for overstay. You really think DHS/immigration was following his pool activities? Little out there don't you think? Rumor has it this wasn't his first rodeo in regards to an overstay.

Intresting theory, and I wonder if the IRS is interested if he paid taxes on tournament winning, and gambling winnings❓

Understand the IRS is adding staff to go after those who are behind in owed taxes, or just did not file.
