Blacklisted?

Howdy All;

Reminds me of the old story about Clyde the Farmer. Had everything going for him until
one day, wife ran off, daughters turned out to do tricks, sons went the way of philanderers
and miscreants. Fields went fallow where before they were abundant. So, Clyde goes down
near the creek that ran through his property dropped to his knees and asked the Lord as to
why all of this had happened to him and his family. A few moments later a floating flame
alights upon a bush near Clyde. A deep rumbling voice issues forth with these words;
" Clyde, .. there's just something about your face. " Flame extinguishes leaving Clyde to ponder.

Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party?
Did someone say, "PARTY!"?

U have a better chance at hitting the power ball or mega millions, than to honestly say this many people want nothing to do with you, than actually having no idea why.

No, the covid or politics thing doesn't seem right. There are lots of asshole posts on NPR but otherwise the guys seem OK.

This sounds like it's his cue sales that have caused things to go bad. Like the bar/pool hall owner found out he sold a "missing" cue from a popular customer. That could get you shunned across a wide range.
Wow! You guys know even less about this than I do, and while your comments are usually mildly entertaining, accusing me of stealing someone's cue and selling it is so far off base. Good thing you didn't accuse me of that to my face. You know nothing of me asshole

So, 2021 was a weird year. I barely played pool at all and when I did go, I played by myself. I barely even spoke to anyone, let alone played anyone. I was out shopping one Saturday and the owner of Gold Crown Billiards in Erie,PA calls me out of the blue. He says I was not welcome in the pool room OR the bars connected that he owns. I asked what his reason was. He vaguely says he had a very good reason for it, but he didn't wanna discuss it. Really? If you bar someone from your business, you should at least give them a good reason. About 15 minutes pass and he messages me on Facebook messenger with the same story. I'm not allowed there, blah blah blah. Ok fine, it may be the only pool hall in town but I can play elsewhere if I wanna. So, I go to Ohio to play but it is so far away to play often. No problems in Ohio, and it was nice seeing some of the better players who traveled to Erie to play. We had some good conversation. So...I tried placing some cue orders since I was kinda playing. I placed an order with my choice builder, and a week goes by and he contacts me and cancels my order. I contacted him a week ago and nope, I can't order. I contacted someone yesterday that I know has worked with him and is building his own cues and same story. Can't help me, can't take an order from me. It's NOT that I need any cues as I have plenty. I am really just wondering why I can't seem to do anything pool related. I barely play, I just stay home and raise my kids. I haven't even Talked pool. Feeling kinda shunned. I'm sure this post is gonna cause me more issues but it's not gonna matter

This is kinda what happened to Dechaine and others.

Pool players and the associated herd are a jealous, gossipy bunch. Not surprised they don't have the balls to say what you are accused of. No doubt somebody who is better at this game has thrown you under the bus.....there is no winning. Take up axe throwing.

Seems you and I have some similar posting traits (probably not a good thing), the difference between you and I though - I wouldn't be surprised if I wasn't allowed in the hall - if my personal antics were similar to my posting antics (which they are, but I don't go to the local hall anymore anyways so it doesn't matter :))

Do you act this way in real life? If so, karma is a bitch.
Christ I had a good player lose in our weekly tournament. He tore his shirt off. Ran up to everyone in the place saying they couldn't beat him ( though someone just had), that he's a champion ECT....after a couple months time out he came crawling back asking me to be let back in. Life is too short to hold grudges over nonsense.

So a busy guy who owns several bars and a pool hall that you "hadn't even been" to, takes time to find your phone number, call you out of the blue just to tell you you've been 86ed?
Typical pool room owner responsibility.

I own a small room 4 years and have banned 17 people, probably 9 were real players. People get crazy over pool.

Send in a spy to ask someone that works there where you are or have you seen him? Not the owner, but the counter guy or a bartender. Chances are, if you are banned the owner told some or all his employees. Folks like to tell secrets ;)

Duke, you're absolutely right. I am an asshole. Still, I've never been banned from a bar, poolhall, buying a cue or even AZ. Think about that.
