What Kind of Chalk Does Jayson Shaw Use?

The reason I didn't buy just 1 was I didn't want to be paying around 36+ dollars for 1 piece. It was cheaper in the long run to buy 6 at 26 dollars a piece and I could always sell some if I wanted to .
madness .... whats wrong with masters?

I don't doubt this... Honestly I don't really stress about chalk and have been living off the same 100pc box I bought decades ago. That said I thought it might be smart to prevent undo cleaning of my soon to be freshly reclothed table. Little did I know how much this stuff costs...

109euro for 9 pieces = $155cdn

I didn't need to get to the shipping calculator...lol
Actually it's 119.25 euro with shipping which comes to 169.26 cad then dont forget taxes and the 10.00 FedEx road fee .

6 pieces was 92.64eur or 131.51 then taxes and fee.

Current exchange 1 euro is 1.13 us and 1.42 cad.

Not sure what they are charging for shipping to the us

From what I've seen it's 7 to 8 dollars cheaper than Kamui. Which is totally overpriced too. But if it will make you break 100?

serious question....why didn't you just buy 1 piece to try it out?
I did buy two pieces from an Amazon dealer just to try it out for myself and another player here, which cost us $60 total, $30 apiece. He’d been previously using Taom 2.0 and had heard great reviews about the V10. After one night of playing with it, I placed my order direct from Taom, when I realized I could get a nine piece box for roughly half the $30 per piece Amazon price.

I’ve previously been using magic chalk, then Taom Pyro, then Mezz Exceed chalk. All of them in my opinion better than the previous, and all extremely clean. The Taom V10 is far superior to all of those, IMO, so the price for me really wasn’t a major issue, particularly considering how long it lasts.

For curiosity sake do you remember what the flat rate shipping was to the US in euros? I'm assuming it was sent FedEx express?

It was 24.90euro to Canada

Actually the cost of 9 pieces is 109euro... like I said, I didn't bother with calculating shipping ;)

I didn't need the added expense of shipping to know it wasn't worth it for me personally. Thanks for doing the rest of the calc for those watching

Unfortunately for me, given the extreme cost, I don't know if I have enough energy to keep an eye on both my cue and my piece of chalk on league night...lol
Magnetic chalk holder - another $50 gadget for your pool addiction!

For league night? Whatever. Use whatever you like. But on your own table? I play an entire night, 6+ hours, and my hands are as clean as when I started. With master, kamui, blue diamond, and most others, 20 minutes and my hands are already getting filthy. The cleanliness of Taom chalk can’t be overstated.

it’s terrible?

If you have your own table, Taom chalk will be the best money you ever spend.

Incredibly clean, and lasts forever. Got these first week of August - one is used and the other unused. I play every day. And I apply chalk liberally. Not even at the paper yet. I’m guessing each piece will last me 18 months or more?

Well now hopefully the frugal, penny-pinchers, or cheap skates who found great price.

Will tell those who want to try, when you found your best price.

Earlier today I was complaining about price. You've laid out a compelling argument. I think a purchase for home use may be in order!

Well, I went ahead and bought a box of 9. Was headed there to buy 1, but in typical fashion, I saw the per chalk break, and the flat fee for shipping, and figured why not...Maybe I can sell a few to local players looking for that special edge for their game. (A clean home table and hands was my selling point)

<tongue in cheek>It is clearly the major factor behind the 714. (not trying to take away the role the pocket geometry played, but really, it had to be the chalk)
</<tongue in cheek>

I grabbed a v10 to try off Amazon. We'll see if I can break 100 tomorrow, lol (spoiler alert: hell no)! The only non masters I've tried was the 1080 that I didn't like.

Oh also gotta build a new bucket polisher while I'm at it.

Someone must have read this thread because jayson answered all those silly questions in the cue it up podcast (music, shoes, food etc...).

what you guys never understand is , holds everything clean and keep your Tip as new over 1,5 years. No mushroom on a soft tip either, so you keep much money and hassle for new tips too. TAOM Pyro or V10
Just my 2 cents
