Fun break speed competition at DCC

I just watched that a bit ago. Had to laugh when I seen Corey in a break speed contest. Like tf were they thinking? lol I've had the break speed app for idk how many years now. So why they are acting like it's new idk.
It was entertaining.
According to the explanation of how the test program works, the smaller the table the faster the mph....I'm not so sure that's based in reality.

It's measuring the time it takes from when you hit the cue ball till it hits the rack. Two balls going the same speed will reach the rack at different times from different distances.
If you use just the times to calculate the speed you will get different answers. The one going the shorter distance will show a faster time because it got there quicker even though they are going the same speed.
Maybe there is something built into the program that can adjust for a correct actual speed. It seems it would be more accurate measuring the cue ball travling between two fixed points. You would not even need a pool table.
I think that hillbilly guy got screwed by the way.

The app allows you to input what size table and where on the headstring you are breaking from.
Looks to me the speed was based off the center spot. I think it was when Shaw shot from off the side rail they showed a speed on the screen, then the guy with the laptop grabbed his cueball position from where he broke from and moved it from there to the center spot and it recalculated it to what it would have been from the center spot.

The hillbilly dude said he's recorded 35 mph or 37 mph, sheesh that's moving lol and though he broke harder than them all I seen no advantage. I got no real enjoyment out of it.

He obviously could beat them. He should have just broke hard enough to win and not risked jumping the table.

Yep!!! Half speed woulda nearly beat Fedor. $500 I think was what they won, no life changing money but thats a free gambling set if wanted but he just had to show off a little too much LoL
