The jump shot is a very important weapon in the arsenal of a competitive pool player. Having effective jump shot technique can get you out of all sorts of trouble and help you win games. Thanks! I'll definitely watch this video closely- I never really learned how to jump properly

Please let me know what you think after you watch it. I put a lot of work into this one. I hope people like it and benefit from it. Enjoy!

I’m a purists on most things. Especially ball colors & green cloth. And other things in life in general. However I have never taken exception with the “jump” shot. I figure it’s a solution to get out of a trap or bad situation. If your capable and can execute it-it’s a great shot. Kick, twirl, swerve, masse, or jump imo are all great shots and I won’t knock any of them.

Thx Dr Dave,

I watched it this morning. It's an excellent video, I can see how much work you put into it. I have watched other jumping videos and none go into detail like this one. I think my main problem is stroke technique. I'll put in some practice later, everyone else in the house is asleep right now.

Thanks for watching. I’m glad you liked it. This one did take a ridiculous amount of time and effort, mostly with the script writing, narration, and editing/production. The shooting/filming part went fairly quickly, but it was still good practice for me.

I hope the video info helps you improve.

Dr. Dave. Good video, easy to follow and very informative. I have viewed a small amount of your instructions, but this is by far the best that I have viewed.

I'm the opposite end if the spectrum. I cant dart stroke worth a damn. I'll work on it.

In my experience, the "dart stroke" is easier to learn for most people (with good instruction). But after practice with both, the regular (under-hand) stroke is the most effective (although, the dart stroke is still handy when you need to reach or really elevate, as I demonstrate in the video).
