I go to a pool hall to play pool and see my friends, not to listen to, or read, anyone’s political views.
And I have many friends that are ardent supporters of the former WH occupant whereas I’ve despised
him since the early 70’s after he joined daddy’s RE business. I was born and raised in NYC. So my take
is shaped by my own life experiences just as much theirs is. And I indulge their ignorance just as much
as I’m sure they do mine when it comes to politics. Know what? We don’t talk politics and if the topic
happens to come up because something just came on the TV, I just walk away because it never leads to
anything good. Ever notice that to prove their point, the majority of people do 3 things: they talk faster,
talk louder and repeat themselves. None of the aforementioned contribute to a reasonable discussion of
the topic so why bother? Unless someone is willing to try and be open minded, it turns into a fool’s errand.
But like so many things, political debates are judged on who won which means someone lost. And none
of us want to be a loser in anything, let alone in the presence of others we know. Nope, I’d stop going to a
pool hall if the owner wanted to espouse & impose his political beliefs on its patrons. Pool is pool…Nuf Ced.
