So I decided to follow an idea of mine and it turned into something that has been patent pending since June of last year!!

I took most of last year off from pool tables to work on what we are calling the Multi-Media Intelligent Pool Table Light!

I had a very tough year last year because I chose to sacrifice to make some action!!!

I understand this might not be for everyone, please keep your comments constructive and remember: if you don't like it , doesn't mean you have to tell us by being mean. I dont mind constructive criticism of course.

Not bad .... hope you get lots of orders
Due to weird circumstances(trusted people) we are releasing early and are already BACK ORDERED! We are actually still prototyping with certain clients of ours, both residential and commercial. We have 7 Pool rooms lined up to have prototypes and the list for after: IS GETTING RIDICULOUS!
Thanks for the nice words!

The only constructive criticism I could offer, if the venue doesn't have score counters on the ceiling, you could possibly put some on the breaking end, or spectator end. Could be modular and adapted to the venue.

EDIT: have you had anyone request a camera for a top down view, but mounted on the fixture?

Thats a great idea. we will make a scorekeeper option on there!! The players self regulate the score. It will have its own scoreboard, not on the advertising/playback screeens ! IT WONT BE BEADS>

This thing will be a TV STUDIO! We are about to mount 5 HD cameras on custom made mounts that come off the light :)
So much more to come, this is just the start ONLINE POOL SCHOOOL!! Live Streams from our 7 locations !! Thanks for your input!

Man... I'll be honest. I'm having a real hard time finding a supplier for those 8020 joiners you used, but they have to be at least $10 a pop. That combined with a decent guess at the size/amount of structural aluminum and you're what >$1k before you add the lights...?

I'll admit, it looks really cool, but damn I'm betting that bill isn't for the faint of heart.

I hope it sells extremely well. Nice job

Edit: Out of curiousity, I searched up the diamond overhead light. Considering it's retail is at $1k. I'd rather have the flexibility of your creation. ;)

3d printing is CHEAP!! My partner designed the corners, they are custom and we print them for a very affordable price :) We have so much to show still! I wont lie, I been DYING to share this on here. This is the FUTURE OF LIGHTING. More to come! Camera systems are going on SOON!

Very nice and completely explains why I couldn't find anything even remotely close. Excellent job, and way cheaper then buying something off a vendor's shelf.

The frame is all USA made, no waiting on freighters. It would be realllllllly expensive to make them any other way. Product is developing fast. We are working on an "Arm" mount for the ICA training systems projector. HUGE STUFF COMIN!

Nice work. Some thoughts:

1) agree with others camera system would be nice. If DSLR type, about a 13mm lens works great with a crop sensor lens.
2) how confident are you the 3D printed parts are strong enough? It would suck for a heavy system to crash down on a player due to long term fatigue of printed parts. You'd probably get sued good if the person has a lawyer.
3) If you go with a projector for one of the two projection training systems, it needs to be a short throw projection, about one foot outbound of the side pocket. I have one on my table and spent a lot of time finding the ideal location on the ceiling. I have a thread on it if you are interested.

1. Yes
2. 100% , we are only using the standard plastic, we can mix kevlar or carbon fiber or all of them together if we need strength.
I worked in theater stage and lighting in college and as a job. No issues here.
3. We are dealing directly with Robin from ICA so no issues on getting everything mounted to specifications, but, please post your thread, I am indeed interested! :) Thanks for your input! I appreciate your thoughts and time!!!

Here is the thread. It has a lot of detail, and covers both the camera and the projector. Post #76 shows the final location of the projector and you can see how far away it is from the centerline of the table. I tried LOTS of locations, and this one was by far the clearest and best quality on the table. Robin did contact me about how I mounted the projector and thought it would overheat that way, but I've had zero issues with it in the 3 years its been mounted and used. I don't have the ICA system, I have the Projection Pro Billiards system. They both use the same types of projectors.

Good luck on your project:)

While I hate lousy video, isn't the camera thing easy to go overboard on...?

If the intent is merely to provide viewers with an overhead. Some low price secuirty IP webcam could certainly be more then enough.

Could be easy to throw up some $1k camera, but it would still be just an overhead shot. Not poo pooing on the idea of a camera. In fact for the cost of them I wish room owners would put them on every table. Just saying, it's easy to go overboard and price yourself out of the market.

Imagine a pool room that would always have an overhead camera running while you played. You hit that miracle shot and for the low low cost of $10 you can have you time table plopped on to a branded thumb drive (~$3). You'd sell more of those than cups of coffee.

I think many would be surprised at how good the cheap cameras can be.

Personally I'd recommend rethinking how confident you are in the strength and longevity of your 'standard' plastic. Environment and time can be a huge problem.

What is the patentable piece? It looks cool and functional, but how does it differ from a light with a couple of tvs/monitors mounted above it?

Again, very cool…

This could be the equivalent to electronic scoring in bowling. Years ago, all the "geezers" hated it. They preferred the overhead projector and film while keeping score by hand. Nowdays, almost no one even knows HOW to keep score in bowling! LOL. This could be like a video game. You enter in the game you are playing and the system could keep score by knowing the rules and following the action on the table. 8 ball, 9 ball etc... it could call fouls, or at least offer instant replays for shots. I think this could add a lot of fun to a pool hall.
