This is what happens when Swiss people drive their Italian cars to Italy. (It’s very common there)

in the late 90’s Ferrari started building cars that non-Italian people could fit in. Problem is the larger cars don’t fit in Italy anymore.(rich people problems).

I knew a guy who survived one. He wasn't quite right in the head but seriously not sure if that's because of the lightning.
I knew a mine surveyor who had been caught in an open pit blast. Definitely not right in the head, but I hadn't known him before his incident so I could never be certain of the cause...

I was supposed to stay at the Salt Grass Lodge in Buras last weekend but we postponed til September because of that storm. There’s a bunch of houses like that, maybe not THAT high, but they normally have old skiffs, busted trailers, a few destroyed crab traps, and a bunch of old Gill nets underneath. They appear missing in this photo.

Warning to all, this post is totally off topic! I sure do miss Buras though. I put in there to fish the marsh and canals almost every weekend for a few years. Targeted reds and trout but we usually added a few flounder and other fish to the catch too. Buras for brackish water, Lac Des Allemands for fresh water, life was good, naah it was great! A friend was born and raised in Des Allemands. He talked about how wonderful it was to grow up in a place that had everything! Fishing, hunting, trapping, room for a little garden. He never knew a hungry day and thought this was Paradis. He was wrong of course, Paradis is a few miles down the road!

If you love the outdoors and can tolerate a few bugs and heat South Louisiana really is a bit of heaven!

Enough of the homesick blues, I do miss year round fishing though!

And then my alarm went off...

Actually, thinking back on that very game I realized that's the night he and I were chatting after the match checking out each other's cues (I had my Dzuricky that night) and I picked up his Predacasi (Predator or Lucasi - can't remember but I know he spent $1400 on it - same as my Dzuricky) and I loved the soft grip. Loved it so much I went out and purchased an Kelly Peterson built tulip wood with buffalo leather wrap. Loved the wrap but the cue was setup for an extension and it was way too back heavy so I sold it.

And then my alarm went off...:)

A few bugs! HA! Try mosquitos big enough to carry off a prize heifer, cotton mouths as thick as your bicep, Alligators that will eat you, your pet dog, and your 14 ft. john boat...even the rats (nutria) are oversized and out of control! Don't forget so much humidity that it impossible to have a dry shirt between March and October!

But when I hear that zydeco music start up, and smell those crawdad's starting to boil, no place I'd rather be!
