In the news today....''

Judd Trump drew a laugh out of the Crucible crowd after tricking the referee to look away while he moved a pink ball to avoid being snookered.

Trailing Stuart Bingham by two frames, Trump was able to find his sense of humour as he reduced the deficit to one.
 
Yeah, that was hilarious. He had a huge, insurmountable lead in the frame and was just having some fun as he tried to finish his run. A concession of the frame was coming whenever he missed. The ref, opponent Stuart Bingham and the crowd all had a good laugh.

Yes, in snooker, some shots that are played have absolutely no effect on the results of a frame, but the culture of the game is that the players usually try to complete their runs even once the frame is already won. This was one such frame.

This was just Judd trying to be entertaining, and he succeeded.

Mike Massey got caught on camera moving a ball. Later on, in the booth, the other commentator says to Mike " look at this, looks like you got a little funny on this ball". Then the clip played and Massey`s embarrassment was very evident. They played it off as being a joke but Massey was caught cheating.
 
Analysis/Paralysis

It was not intentional in any way.
Mike was caught up in the moment so focused it just happened.
If I remember correctly, even his opponent said nothing.
Like the other day, with BIH I over thought the shot so much, that I shot the 2 instead of the one first.
BIH for my opponent.

I did watch an Old Efren match, where he actually cheated on a length of table shot intentionally, a Pinoy move that he musta brought over.
Effie, scooped jumped the cue ball over about a 1/3 of an obstructing ball, the announcers/opponent said nothing.
I wish would of remembered where/when this happened, but he did cheat.
He may of been on the borderline/pro events evolving where they had no ref and opponent/announcers said nothing.

He was shooting from the behind the head string area, right side of table, to a ball near the foot of the table, into the l/hand pocket as you face the table from the head-string. I was surprised, tho he was young.

i think those little things (judd, alex) can be beneficial in tense situations. judd played noticably looser after that, and alex does it all the time to cope with tension

With all due respect, I don't remember it that way. His opponent didn`t say anything because he didn`t see it. Massey did not have a shot before he moved the ball but he did after. And he shot from there.

Figures from a Religious freak. He once made 5 out of 9 nine balls on the break in a rack your own tournament also.

Mike said this, he's NOW in Fla 5PM, just did an exhibition at a Billionaires home, and was in the drive up at the Burger king drive up. Word for word.

well that is a terrible attempt to make things clear. I do however remember the blooper tape and i thought Mike had just spaced out a minute. No one would deliberately try to cheat in that obvious and in-your-face observable manner imho.
