Who knows what "center cue ball" control is about? Robin Dreyer knows and teaches this concept.

Center cue ball control is where the cue ball rolls about 6" inches past the cue ball with a medium or hard hit. If you know where tangent line will strike the rail, the "center ball" hit will go forward a few inches on rebound. If you take a ball and have it forward of the 8 ball mark about a ball. IF you can make the ball and hole out the cue ball, you've got it. Great shape can occur with this knowledge.

He may be a great instructor but technical writing isn't your strong suit.just saying😉

You need to get another alias, this one was too easy to read.

In professional snooker,
They use the term "Stun-run-through"

I was watching a Tor Lowry video about center ball training. Is center ball typically used to refer to anywhere on the vertical axis to include draw and follow? The description here seems to be about dead center with no follow or draw.

The drill is about following the cue ball about 6" after the ball went into the hole for a straight shot. This is "center ball". If you know where tangent goes with stun, for example into the scratch pocket, the "center ball" will go about a few inches forward for shape.

I was told that Robin teaches using the centre ball vertical and shot speed to control the cue ball path, rather than using lots of side. I know some players who play that way.

If you hit 100% flat OB dead straight the CB will roll forwards about 2” to 5” on fast cloth.

I was taught this about after playing for a year. Roy Fuffernick taught me how to hit a ball straight and then build your game off that.

I’m not a technical writer either, the stun run snooker jargon is pretty accurate language as well.

I used to shoot 50-100 straight balls a day for decades. I got real good at that. Being dead straight is a lock for me. There’s only one way to make a straight in ball-hit it straight. Horrible for shape but for the $ ball I’ll take straight every time.

No matter how hard I hit it, I can't get the cue ball to go past the cue ball.
Really should NEVER HIT a shot HARD ...
EVEN the break shot
You are going to need to spend quality time practicing,
developing your stroke....
I watch the Snooker pros-
shooting on 12 foot tables-
Those guys will really teach you a lot if you will give some serious time watching how they shoot

I've heard this term used in pool, as well.
It's pretty common - but it isn't a single shot as seems to be implied here.

It's a variable technique for controlling the CB after contact with the OB, for both straight and cut shots. The variables are how high/low you hit the CB, how hard, and how far it must travel before and after hitting the OB.

Yes, but 9 ball and 10 ball are so much different than snooker. So much shape is invaluable for the run out.
