Sorry Fatboy.... the orange 5 is not coming back!

Meh, what's done is done. At the end of the day, there are bigger things to fret about.

There is nothing wrong with reverting back to a purple 4 ball and then change the 5 to pink - same colors on the table for the "TV experience". It's early enough in the transition it wouldn't make a huge difference to the masses but would appease the core group of pool players who disapprove.

Seems like an easy change.

Sets should have alternate balls included. FI, pinstripes or other distinguishing markings on the 5, 8, 9, 10, and 15.

What pool fan can honestly say he loves this video? I want to know. I really want to cut down on my swearing, especially when using the English language, and instead work on expanding my vocabulary, to avoid ending up like the stereotypical swearing foreigner. I'm appalled, outraged, almost apoplectic at the sheer arrogance on display.

We made a mistake, we know it was a mistake and you guys did nothing, so bend over and take it. At least she's in the right sport.

That they are also doing something I've always advocated, which is standardizing the pocket, is purely incidental and not an example of good intentions. You've seen their faces now. When they lube you up and stick it to you, you can't say you weren't warned. Matchroom has in fact tried to change snooker many times, but were stopped by the conservative English sentiments regarding the sport. They've found a playground now, where they can do whatever they want. THIS is what they wanted to do with snooker:
,Here are the ridiculous rules of "power snooker"
Can't wait to see what they have in store for pool? I'm thinking full on circus, with clowns, elephants and blaring air horns. Also, BTW, I can't be the only one seeing the connection to power snooker, with the colour scheme and all?

She did admit that the contrast between the orange 5 and the yellow 9 was horrible when playing on the blue cloth. I was having a hard time telling the difference between blue and purple on the blue cloth also. The blue overwhelms the TV cameras. But that decision was made before they went to the Shark Grey.

She is correct about the Grey cloth though. For the TV viewers, it does provide the best contrast for all the balls. So I would agree we could go back to traditional colors. But I could live with the purple 5 if I had to.

Matchroom really dropped the ball on this. Gray cloth is fine, no issues there, it looks good on screens.

Purple 5, for a game of 9 ball is wrong. It goes against tradition (not in a good way). It's literally the only gripe I have with their production. I can live with it, but I hate it every time I see it.

Admitting you've made a mistake and just running with it (because you know, purple 5 has such a long history of it being tied to matchroom) is a bad decision. Matchroom should be able to dominate 9 ball for decades. Don't let a one year mistake ruin the next 10-20 years of pool.

She'd rather gargle with broken glass than admit they dogged it on the ball colors. That BLACK set is horrid. They know it based on the amount of bad feedback they're getting but her ego won't let her fix it. BTW, i actually kinda like the shark-grey cloth but the balls are brutal.
