SNOOKER IS LIKE ONEPOCKET

Ok I just figured out my preference for 3 to the side...In a ring game, it's easier for the field to accept it as a lucky shot. !?! Three to the corner works but well I would think it might be detected sooner. Of course I was usually able to show a $20 shot once in a while without flushing the birds .🤷😉
Ok just hit the 3 to the corner... first try. Better not let it go to my head. After all it's my home court.

I prefer "Provided Entertainment" to the term Hustled. Or even provided Lessons.🤷

A string of good posts! One does remind me that snooker players often throw in a little showmanship for the crowd once the frame is theirs and there are still balls on the table. What they do when shooting for the crowd could very easily be different than what they would do with the frame still in play.

Funny about hustling: Until I came to AZB I never considered laying a spread for hustlers to be hustling. Keeping a hustler on the table letting them shoot a lot and almost win was fair too. It didn't hurt casual players to lose a few dollars but when somebody was seriously on the stall while raising the bet the game was on. The good ol' days when times were rotten! I sure miss them sometimes.

The second or was it the first lesson in hustling is,
"You can only be hustled if You are trying to hustle."
😉😁

This is something completely different in my eyes. We were talking about trying to make a shot into the pocket with a seemingly wild multi-railer while keeping your CB safe, which is a common shot in 1P and not common at all in snooker.
What you show us here in this video, is a safety shot over multiple rails landing the OB in a small area behind another ball, and that is something you see a lot in snooker - especially in the end stage of a frame. Mark Selby is an example of a player who is very proficient in this department. (Oh and btw: this is something I don't think you'll see a lot if ever in 1P.)
I think both shots are common to both games which is why some may think there are similarties in the disciplines. 😉

My favorite sucker in one pocket was the 3 railer from in front of his to mine. Hit it once and I couldn't lay off of it. Knowing it was a sell out more often than anything didn't help at $10 a game.😉

I just can’t see it. Snooker works because there is a good balance between safety play and potting. The tv audience can sit through a scrappy frame if they get a 50-100 break in the next. I don’t think two consecutive prolonged up table games would result in repeat viewing among the casual fan. It’d be cool if I’m wrong though.
1P is a fantastic game to play. 1P players also love to watch because they appreciate and enjoy the strategies which unfold. Unfortunately those who don't play typically dread having to sit through a match. I was exclusively 8 ball for a long time. Once I picked up 1P my 8 ball game improved dramatically.
