Frost-Gorst......?

Fedor will let Frosty hang around until tomorrow, to keep ppv happy. But in the end the MUCH more talented Fedor will win.

Scott’s not squeezing hard enough.
That’s right. I’m not watching it, but by the score it’s clear. Scott MUST squeeze him and contain him. He’s not gonna out shoot him. Only way he can win. Standard shooter vs mover 1P match.

Best

It just won't make any difference. Like Filler against Chohan, Gorst can pull away anytime imo. A lot of old-timers really underestimate the overall skill set and high pool IQ of Gorst and Filler. These kids are geniuses irl.

Yes those 2 are a once every 20 years talent. SVB doesn’t have the talent either of those 2 have. SVB works hard and has continued to have that work ethic which has served him well, and his break(best ever in pool). But in terms of “raw talent” filler/Gorst are like Earl-next level raw talent. In a couple more years game over they will win everything everyone will be playing for 3rd place.

(This is not a knock on SVB-he’s my friend and I hold the highest respect for his work ethic and gambling ethic, and his game of course!!! He ain’t bad as a person either 😉, & I'm so happy he got his well deserved & earned WC). There was never a doubt 💪💪

I was wondering who was up next the last 10-15 years. And now we know.

Fun to see.

Best

Anyone who plays either Gorst or Filler any pool game in a long-race "straight-up" is going to lose. Remember Alex P. thinking he could beat Gorst in 10-ball lol?
After "spotting" Frosty the first 3 games on day one, Gorst is 14 and 6.
The easiest job in the world is being one of these kids' backers lol

Easy way to make a hard living😂😉😃

I think as time moves forward youth will be more relevant in pool than in the past.

Years ago a few guys in their late 40’s could out run the young guns playing 1P. I’m not going to debate names and get into the technical details. This is a generalizing statement. There’s always exceptions.

Just conceptually I think the changes in pool now favor younger players more than in the past: like tennis.

Youth over experience more so in the future.

Something to ponder
Fatboy<——way past his prime. Did I have a prime?😂

I think the only reason a lot of the young straight shooters can match up well in 1p with players like Scott and Tony today is because of the wealth of knowledge available at the click of a mouse. They can look up things that used to take players years to figure out. It's a lot like chess. Let's say you bring back Bobby Fischer, maybe the best player that ever lived. He might struggle today even against top 100 players because they have access to computer engines, more game databases, and many new theories since the 70s.

100% correct

It's not "the only reason", but yes watching one-pocket matches on youtube definitely does add to their strategy arsenal.
I'm no slouch on the pool table myself and I enjoy watching and learning patterns and strategies from pro matches on youtube.
Knowledge, coupled with immense talent and no fear, give these young studs the edge over pretty much anyone in a long race.
As most of you know, decent players with big egos and bankrolls are a road player's best friend. And right now, due to the pool ban on Russian players by the dumbazz pro leagues, Gorst is the best "road" player on the planet. The kid and his girlfriend, pro player Kristina Tkach, are just trying to make a modest living travelling the US and giving classes and playing in rinky-dink tourneys.
I respect these kids and truly wish them the best!

Standard shooter vs mover 1P match.
I didn't have a single chance to watch Fedor playing 1P this year (this is when I believe he actually got hold of it), but looking at his results I assume Fedor is far from just a shooter in this game, he well might be a mover himself already.
Would love to hear some experts say on how is Gorst's 1P now.

As I continue reading next posts, speaking of talent: Gorst is not as talented as Filler, he's much like SVB in this department. The amount of work he did put in was insane. And it is great his work paid off to such an extent (would've been a disaster if it did not).
Actually Shane has played some part in Fedor's approach, I think. Right after Shane recommended the Russian youngster to Cuetec. So here you have it two practicing machines, SVB and FG. That said, SVB is Build 1, FG is Build 2, next gen.

Alright, let's lock those two beasts in one cage then! Fight!!! 😁

I hope we gonna see one challenging the other, and many times and different games

I doubt a mouse (computers/videos) have anything to do with their ability. Coz I'm yet to meet a pro who ever watched the others play on tape (i.e. video recorded). When I was talking with SVB about how he mastered 1P so fast, he simply said he was watching what the players do. But it was live, at the events. So there is no mouse as an intermediary :) It is good old thing of being observant for a great billiard mind.
What extends these great players from the mob is the thing between their ears. The ability to see and then to perform based on what they noticed.
