Why is Facebook used for live video from matchroom events?

Is it just me or is it very frustrating to use Facebook and find the live feed for the European open?

I get it, they want to distribute to a lot of people for free, but Facebook is not a video.platform. It's a rabbit hole, full of white noise to keep me there longer than I ever want to.

I gladly pay for dazn for the whole year, if I know I can get all matches in one place and I don't have to skip through some white noise machine to maybe get there.

Sorry, rant ended. Had to get it out.

It is just you. Just have the Matchroom page up and you refresh and it will show you if a live feed is streaming.

This was supposed to be the last day of Facebook anyways as it switches to the other channels tomorrow for last 16.

You can also go to YouTube and cast it up to your roku TV.

That app seems to have been discontinued. I can’t access it on either my new tv or new Apple TV. Casting to the tv is finnicky and a pain.
what is your "new tv" that you can't get it on? They are reporting on the net that it apparently has been cut from Apple TV by the Zuck.

Here is the listing on DAZN -- times are Pacific.

I hope they keep the videos up for a while as 3AM is too early/late for me. They tend to take them down nearly immediately.

I avoid it also.

Better when something is live streamed on Youtube.
Less noise and Chromecasts much better as well.

I am more dreaming of one streaming app where they should put all matches, live and past. I am willing to pay, rather then having to look them up and check two locations, which table is where. Like a "Matchroom TV" app

Like mentioned in the chat during one of the matches today, almost every time YouTube feed attracts more viewers than that of Facebook. I myself noticed that at previous MR majors. If only MR bothered to pay attention. They could have at least swapped table 1 and table 2, going mainstream with the commentary. (This is as long as commentary remains entertaining for viewership, which seems to be less the case lately)

I paid for both DAZN and matchroom.live. Often the matchroom pool events aren’t available on either of them. If you can’t even PAY for reliable access, it doesn’t bode well for the success of their business model.

I'd guess that when you are looking for matches during the pre last 32 phase you aren't finding them on matchroom.live and or Dazn.

They are selling their content after that point or so it would make sense they aren't there yet.

Prior to that, its good advertising for their website and for their networks to show the matches on Facebook or YouTube to alert people that they can be viewed for a subscription from their partners who pay for the content. Matchroom has a great business model and are mostly self-funded
from what I can see.

Incorrect, all posts for the event clearly stated the entire event would be streamed on facebook (table 1), youtube (table 2), DAZN, and matchroom.live (both tables). DAZN wasn’t available until today. The European Open didn’t even show up on the DAZN schedule until today. This is EXACTLY the same thing that happened during the UK Open. If someone can’t even pay to access your content, what in the heck are you even doing? I’m all for what matchroom is doing, but it is way beyond me how they plan on sustaining it as a business if they can’t get the basics working.

That sounds like a Dazn issue. I'd guess Matchroom is getting paid but these streaming services keep themselves in quite a bubble but they
apparently have some kind of admin problem and whatever it is, it's bad because you are right, this looks like the same thing with the Uk Open. In fact, I was surprised to see another round of free to view content.

I have Dazn but had no problem watching on Facebook and I had youtube up at same times a few times on another screen. FB and youtube allow access to the event to pretty much everyone. They should put it on Twitch also
