Local Cue Makers?

I am curious about how many people have cue makers located near them?
Anyone care to tell us what all cue makers are near them?

Here in Corpus Christi, Texas we have two that I know of.

Willeecues made by William Lee (This is who is making my cue.)

And there is a guy here named Eric that makes custom cues as well. (I don't know what he calls them, and I can't remember his last name.)

Speaking of Eric, his last couple batches of cues had some that I wouldn't have mind having. I can't afford to buy every cue that I like though. LOL

Then in Calliham, Texas it is about an hour up the road from me there is also a cue maker.

The Cue Masters made by Tom Haskin and Jimmy Haskin.

That is all I know of around here, but I know there are some in San Antonio.

Yep I know where Leakey, Texas is, and I know of your cues! Great cues in my opinion.

Thanks for posting! Maybe I can come up there and check it out sometime.

Local Cue Makers

There are a few near me in Phoenix.

Bryan Mordt (bcmcue.com), Scott Whisler (whislercues.com), John Robinson (robinsoncues.com), Dave Barenbrugge (barenbrugge-cues.com), Dale Teague, Chip Albery CA cues (rvalbery.com), and in Tucson AZ there is a gentalman by the name of Glen Graham.

I'm pretty sure that sums up Arizona, but I could be wrong.

Let's see ... We have Tom Coker (30 miles) ... Bobby Hunter (75 miles) ... Richard Chudy (80 miles) ... Saw Bobby at Hard Times yesterday for the One-Pocket Tournament and he was still in the Winner's Bracket when I left ...
 
In Albuquerque, NM, Adam Frank is a great custom cuemaker and a pretty decent player! I know many local players who use his cues and love them, but they're a little stiff for me. :p
 
Local cuemakers

There are two here in Grand Rapids, MI, that I know of and both post here.

Busbee Cue. He is relatively new but has come a long way and has built some nice looking cues lately. He does all of my tips, is very reasonably priced, does great work and often will pickup and deliver to the poolroom.


curlyscues. He has been building cues for IIRC 18 years. I have owned several Curly Cues and IMO they hit great. The one I own now was my design and built to my specs, to stay within my price range. lol I went to his shop and picked out the pieces of woods to be used. It is not fancy but I love the look and the hit.

i live in S.W. Indiana, and Chad Carter Custom Cues is located 70.5 miles south of me in Owensboro, KY. thats the same Owensboro, KY where Mr. Nick Varner resides. was down at his place yesterday. he cleaned some shafts, ferrules, and put a new tip on a break shaft for me. the man does excellent work, and he's getting lots of orders. anybody looking for a great playing cue should check Mr. Carter out.

I live about 2 miles from where Schon's are made. Also McDermott is within a few miles and also Viking are made in Madison about 80 miles from me.
 
SW is 2 miles away, its a long walk when its 120 degrees outside.


Funny story, I remember the first day I walked in the shop it was my dad's birthday 7-1-86, i felt guilty ordering a cue for myself and not getting my dad anything, I didnt live in Vegas at the time I was passing through town and as a last minute thing I remembered SW cues and went over there, little did I know that 13 years later I would live 2 miles away at that time in 86 i lived about 500 miles away. BTW I waited until may of 87 for that SW-I still have it.

Those are the cuemakers that have actually made a name for themselves, plus several that just tinker with cue building and at least a dozen more cue repairmen. Talk about a saturated area. It is a great place to live, but please don't move here if you build or repair cues. :)

Bill Dominiak of "Dominiak Cues" is about 6 miles from me near Batavia NY.
Great guy. Great cues.
 
Carolina Cues is an hour from me and although I have held a few of them I have never hit a ball with one, pretty cues though.--Leonard
 
Cuemakers...

Two of the most talked about cuemakers around where I live are none other than Skip Weston and Paul Fanelli. They are within one hours drive from my house.
 
A buddy of mine makes cues and lives 2 blocks from me! I doubt anyone has ever heard of him though. He makes very very few cues. They are called LUXE.
