Mosconi Stats for every match

Looks like a play by play, its this the initial version or final draft for future stats?

Great work. Data entry for pool scoring is something that interests me.

more tabs on bottom. play by play is just the start. i can make it more detailed. its just not high priority.
 
As a pool room regular having people input data is the big problem for leagues or tournaments.

I am interested in streamlining that input process. The idea is to give users a way to share stats from watching matches.

It is easier to share data if that process can be done by any computer or mobile user. Some leagues have apps for scoring but they are clunky.

shot accuracy, breaking success and safety success is all that is needed on TV. and TPA is good enough. the other stats you'd be better of selling to the players or their managers.
 
What is your criteria for a successful safe? I see successful safes followed by a pocketed ball and unsuccessful safes that were resafed back and resafed again. I guess it's a bit of a nebulous concept, if we are exchanging safties, but neither of us is giving up shots nor getting ball in hand, are they successful?

I liked the angle and distance for the made shots in the shot accuracy chart. It would be nice to see 4/4 instead of 100%, I don't know how many shots were attempted at a particular distance/angle. It is nice to see that the majority of shots were half ball or greater and less than three diamonds from the pocket. That lets me know if I am taking a lot of thinner and longer shots I need to work on my position play.

my process can be taught to others. pool is complex so the process can seem complex at first but easy once you get a rhythm

successful safe - are yiu referring to the play by play? i really need to rid those words. thats all they are. it was early on then i started only counting off for safe if the opponent pocketed a ball.

ya the shot accuracy i like. i do that because i have time before a shot. just my eyeball judgement. so dont think its perfect😜

I'm a box score guy but this is the equivalent of the "he's 0-27 on Tuesday night games played in the month of May facing left handed relievers on the West Coast" kind of stat. Some stats can be meaningless and irrelevant.

Raw data doesn't tell a story - summaries tell stories. The box score and player game statistics are summaries.

You have a lot of raw data, you just need to curate and filter the most important/interesting items.
 
It's a lot, and frankly, sports statistics (any kind of sports) don't really interest me. BUT, it's nice to know that the information is there, and if someone is curious about it, it only takes few mouse clicks to dig it up. I say well done.

And if anyone really enjoys information overload, check out baseball sabermetrics. :eek:
