Newsflash: yapping dog finally gets off porch, barely wins over traveling case maker. -2014

I'm living off 20 years of honorable military service that included four years of holding the launch keys to ten Minute Man ICBMs and some investments that turned out very, very sweet ;-)

Lou Figueroa
you're welcome
Like I said. You're living off of my taxes.

I am sure you were a very capable soldier and did exactly as you were told to do.

Thank you for your service. You're still an a--hole bully.

I have said this to you numerous times: there was no orchestrated effort to bait you.

What happened happened spontaneously and independently. Besides, you always did a fine job of wrapping yourself around the axle all by your lonesome. As to the PPV, as I've also told you many times before: my supposed objections were just to jack with you ;-) I didn't care.

Lou Figueroa
Of course it did...... So no proof of your claims. Who would have guessed?

I'm probably in the minority here but I find all of this kind of sad. One thing I've grown to love about the pool world is there are players from all walks of life, different countries, and different creeds, but yet we all share a love of a game that only we understand. Anyone even half a step removed from pool -- just doesn't get it! They can't! I have a table in my basement that my wife and kids have seen me play on for years now, and they are just amused that I can still be so interested in it.

So here we have two lifers that have been butting heads over what really? Actually not just two lifers, but two guys who are in a lot of ways the epitome of the American Dream! They've certainly taken two different roads to success, but they've both gotten there. Meanwhile, us railbirds have gotten to enjoy their journeys as they've shared their experiences with the pool world. The fact that they share a love of the game and have even gone head-to-head in battle, but yet can't share a beer together -- may say more about them than all of the words spilled out onto AZ combined.

Anyway, I just wrapped up a late night solo session in my basement. A lonely one. It was a haunting session, as hanging on my wall is a prized photo of me and my now grown son. In between us, is a man my exact age and he's now fighting for his life. My prayers are feeble at best, but I've offered them up for Darren Appleton. Now I'm not crazy enough to think there's a Christmas miracle out there for AZ's most-famous arch rivals, but it would make for a nice Hallmark movie. Not that I watch Hallmark movies. I could only imagine how horrible the pool scenes would be.

Merry Christmas to my fellow players.
I agree entirely. From my side I tried incredibly hard to mend fences and bring the sides together.

I love pool more than Lou. I have spent 20 years helping players. He has spent 20 years denigrating those who teach and everyone who disagrees with him in the slightest.

Burr and Hamilton settled it with honor.

If the 2 want to play it's very simple.
Pick a game.
Pick an amount.
Pick a location.
No need for another 100 pages of BS.
I named the amount. The game and the location.

He doesn't want to play.

That said....I have to agree with Lou about one thing.... Why care about how many "pages" of dialog are produced in a conversation that is entirely digital?

Number one no one is forcing anyone to be here. I scroll past topics that don't interest me hundreds of times a day. I would bet that most other people do as well.

Number two, maybe it's not bs to those of us most affected.

The underlying issue here isn't a pool match between two bad players. And to be clear, Lou is a bad player and so am I. I paid for a nine hour match that documents how bad we play.

The issue is bullying. This all started way back when because of Lou being an internet bully. Anyone who spoke up positively about Hal Houle's aiming method became a target for Lou.

Lou believes that there is no merit to aiming systems and that only brute force practice combined with natural talent is the only way to increase aiming ability. So anyone who claims otherwise, anyone who demonstrates otherwise has become a target for this man's bullying.

He is a good writer. Even went so far as to claim he is the best pool writer on the internet. (Oh, he just used a throwaway quote by Mark Griffin to claim that). So he has used his writing skills to bully and demean for more than 20 years. And not just about objective aiming systems either. This active bullying and bitching has earned him bans from places like one pocket.org and Cue and Cushion in St. Louis.

That's the reason we are here. I stood up to him from the beginning when he turned his keyboard in my direction. I will not back down from making this clear every time it is necessary to do so.

So what you see as bs is not bs to me. This asshole has deliberately made it a point to denigrate very good people, even went so far as to be derogatory to their family members. You can choose to be part of the conversation or not as you wish. But to call for the thread to be locked is uncool imo.

You’re right.

I’ll be the first to agree nothing will come of all this except John continuing to run his yap. He’s like the dog barking and chasing the car. In 2014 he finally caught the car and had to ask himself, “Now what?!”

Lou Figueroa
Now what? Seriously? I remember that you were so confident that you claimed you had a whole bunch of people begging you to get in and when I offered to double the bet and post the entire amount at Derby six weeks before the match you went SILENT!

Go ahead and deny it. You watched me play at Derby. You opened your mouth and I said bet more and post it all.

Then, nothing!

If anything you're the yapping dog who finally got coaxed off the porch and got lucky not to get smashed.

You're welcome.

Ya think???? Never known anyone with as bad a case of 'gotta have the last word' disease in my life. At some point it goes from comical to kinda sad.
And yet, here you are posting more.

What you call last word is called responding to comments. A conversation is a back and forth dialog. It runs until there isn't anything else to say.

I have a lot of words. Don't like it then there is a very handy guide to avoid my words. You can tell by the avatar and the labels who is in a thread and who started it.

Makes it beyond easy to avoid threads you don't want to read

i rest my case. you need help. i'm sure you'll have more. wow.

Odds on this match happening?

Over/under as to how many comments will be posted on this thread before they play?

This railbird wants a piece of this epic train wreck. 😝😆😜
No chance. I knew from the moment the last match ended that Lou would never play again. Frankly I thought I would win even without putting in the right practice (yes I know) and so I didn't negotiate a rematch in case I lost.

Lou wants to savor this forever. No chance that he takes any chance of losing that.
