Senior center by me has three diamond tables, open all day for free

finally went to The senior center in my city, close to my house, (I’m 65,) looking for volunteer info. Took a tour, and one room had three diamond tables, in almost perfect condition!!!!!!!! I asked the girl at the front desk, how much per hour to shoot pool? 6 bucks, 8 bucks, 10 bucks a hour???? She looked at me like what hell are you talking about old timer. Two drink minimum??????

she said gramps, its free all day, everyday. Just show your drivers license to get the pool balls. I asked if anybody plays ever, she said sometimes a couple of guys will play during the week. I asked her how much they play for, thinking i could make a little cash on the side. She said they play for 25 cents a game😎 I can handle that.

Guess whos going to be practicing there 9 ball break???? me, over and over again. better than practicing on my diamond at home. 😂

You know…..at 25 cents a game, you an afford to give some big spots.

Just don’t go crazy and ask do you wanna double the bet? I hear some
of those seniors can get pretty cranky so you don’t wanna wind up with
broken thumbs for trying to hustle them. You discovered practice paradise.

She said how much do they weigh?????????? I laughed and said no do they need a spot for the game. She had no clue what i was talking about. Finally i explained it to her, and she laughed and yes they want weight. they all want 4 games on the wire on a race to 5, and they only have to go to the 5 ball on game 5. I go dammmmmm. those are so tough odds for me, but i will take it. Let’s see how i do

That’s how it was when I lived in San Diego county. And “senior” was 50 and over.

Leave them alone. The likelihood they can play at all is slim. They don't need someone spoiling their fun. I know it can be fun being a big fish in a small pond. Stay home and play.

I'll take your word for it. But I was in the pool room business long enough to see lots of guys who were not necessary that good but would impose themselves on lesser players who were too polite to say no.

I'll tell you something funny. I don't know if you actually gamble but you may have provide enough information that a ringer could show up there and trap you.

Generally when you trap someone they think it was a random meeting, It was not, I knew all about them before hand. How they play, what they like to play, what they will bet, what they may be willing to lose and so on. They usually never knew it was all a trap.

Don't wear out your welcome there prematurely. Out of decent respect and sheer common sense make sure you never break directly off the cloth during these long power break sessions. Bring an 8 or 10" square of scrap Simonis fabric and set the CB on that every time you break.

If you didn't do that at my senior center you'd never be welcome again. I or any of the regulars would personally 86 you.
