BEWARE: SCAMMERS ARE IN OUR MIDST

The cuemaster98 account was hacked. I am in communication with him. There was another account over the last week that was hacked, but he caught it right away and I verified there was no damage done. If you ever think you are being scammed in a deal here, please let me know so that I can look into it.

Mike, A cue listed by USMC-311 (gold member) today has folks wondering.

Can you advise which were hacked?

Right now, it looks like these five accounts were all hacked...

Cuemaster98
Dfweyer
Jimmy91988
theyonger
unicorncomputer

This appears to be the same hacker on all of them.
Could you disabled the accounts or at least restrict their access?

I have what you are looking for. Could be yours... no money down. No credit you said it.

Like others posters... I would only buy/sell to credible members. Interesting I have a cue that a member with 25 posts might want but it's not worth the aggravation if the transaction fails.
Heads up. Caution level up. Good thread thanks.

Cuemaster98 is known around here, but his account was hacked. The scammers are using his name to scam people. Unless you have a secret handshake kind of deal with people you know, you may not realize a scammer is behind an account belonging to one of your friends. Thankfully, the scammer who hacked Cuemaster98's account claimed he was Izzy Molina, a well known facebook dealer, but there are people who know that Cuemaster98 isn't Izzy Molina.

There are other accounts trying to sell cues that are almost certainly scammers, as well, e.g.:

unicorncomputer
I've done a deal many years ago with Cuemaster, and had several conversations with him about a couple things. Very stand up guy. There was a listing by him that looked too good to be true. I always communicate with whomever I'm doing business with and have no issue providing validating information in the course of doing a transaction. It's always safer. Usually the fakes will slip up and say something out of line and expose themselves. Good luck to the real Cuemaster, he's a quality member.

As far as the hacking, I recommend everybody (active accounts) immediately change their passwords AND turn on MFA.

People might want to take a look at row "8" and the furthest column to the right:

You probably want to shoot for at least row "11", furthest column to the right.

Hey, thanks for posting that. I just changed my password and turned on MFA.

Look at the 2020 Sugartree listing BELOW. It was one of the accounts that was hacked. Yes, I GOT SCAMMED. Luckily, I was saved by PayPal's Buyer Protection Option.
Go to 2020 Sugartree and Read my comments for your own protection. Be smart. No Zelle, No Venmo, No PayPal "Family & Friends."

Hey Kickin' Chicken... good thing I went first..

I’ve also been saved by Paypal buyer protection. Almost no wait to get a real person on the phone, and by the time I got off the phone a half hour later my refund was in my account and they had forwarded everything to the FBI Internet Fraud group. I also refuse to deal with Zelle, Venmo or F&F unless I actually know the person.

Agree, I was suspicious and wouldn't have proceeded unless I had the best of it, with regard to recourse/protection.

I can't afford to be losing any of my chicken-scratch.

I reported this incident a good month ago.

BUYER BEWARE. Look out for Jeremiah Henderson AKA DFWEYER. I made a deal with him on Saturday to buy a couple of cues. No paypal, of course. I agreed to send him half the money up front and the other half when cues were delivered. Half the money delivered Sunday and now no response from DFWEYER. This guy is a thief and a liar, or his account was hacked. Do not trust or send this account any money for any purchase. Partly my fault for trusting him but doesn't change the fact that he is a SCAM ARTIST.

If you read back through this thread you'll see where AZB Mod, Mike Howerton, posted the names of members whose accounts had been hacked and DFWEYER was one of those listed.

As a standard practice, when dealing with people on the internet that we don't know it's strongly advised to conduct our biz in a manner that guarantees we will have some recourse should things go sideways.

Anyone who decides to do a deal without properly protecting themselves should have their eyes wide open to the fact that they are gambling on there being a good outcome.

best,
brian kc
