2023 World Pool Championship, Kielce, Poland

I was hanging on with bated breath, each one of your posts, pulling for Shane Wolford. And he lost. Good showing from Shane, though. I like this kid.
I haven't seen much of him, but from what I have seen he's impressive.

He's a good kid. Plays well, keeps working to get better, has stood up well under pressure and a very likable young man. He has fun and seems to enjoy himself too.

I just checked all the SKY channels and don't see the table 1 stream. Is it only on DAZN?
Depends on what region you are viewing from. Not listed here, but it is also showing on matchroom.live ($5 a month).

So what will Emily’s solution be to slow play? She experimented with the cloth color, ball color, rack, break rules, venue layout, etc. But the #1 thing that makes the game boring for fans is slow play.

This happens all the time across the world of sports. If you want full control over your equipment then don't agree to be sponsored by an equipment manufacturer.
You would be correct. It may be different from brand to brand but when you sign on the dotted line or shake the hand, and then get free product and potentially other stuff in return, you follow what you are told. Luckily my sponsor doesn't force me to use any type of shaft. I shoot with the Defy shaft because I like it. I still use wood for some artistic shots that really need a flexible shaft and McDermott is cool with that. Bottom line, if a sponsor wants you to use a certain type of cue/shaft, you use that. If not, you can find another sponsor.

I might just be crabby this week, but the play seems a lot slower here than in any recent Matchroom events. If I ran things, every game would be on a timer.

They need to tell the refs to keep a closer eye on the pace of play.

Maybe splurge a little and provide them with stopwatches. If a player is consistently taking over 30 secs per shot, you give them a warning. If you have to warn them again, loss of game. A third warning, loss of match.

Or just find a way to have a shot clock from the start.

15 seconds is needed. 2 extensions per game.

The problem with slow players is they are slow on EVERY SINGLE ASPECT. They walk around the table slowly. They have to view a shot from 10 different angles, even a super simple layout, and they do that slowly. They think slowly. They go to their chair for their towel excessively, and they do it slowly. Their warm up stroking routine is slow. Every single aspect of their game is slow. They need to go!!!

A 30 second clock won't help the boredom, because they will go to 29 seconds every shot. And still walk like turtles around the table.
