Wood porn on a Monday??? Hey Joey

Just cut into a plank that has been seasoning some really good wood porn

Thought i'd revive this- Because wood porn!!
First board on the left of the first photo is Curly Mango, next 3 board are Amboyna Burl. also in the next two photos.
Middle photo is Bog Oak from Ukraine. Fun story got this from Griffin exotic wood. Said it was lab tested as 7600 years old. white flecks are salt from the salt bog
Next photo is 3 Pieces of Camphor Burl. Has a nice smell to it as well.
Last photo is another Amboyna Burl

Last 3 are the same board. Mun Ebony or moon ebony also from laos

Thanks, Ive done some woodworking in the past when i was younger. But having these exotic woods in hand and seeing them is exciting. they really are nuts compared to the average wood at a lumber mill.
Ill add some more pics later before i ship off some wood to Bob.
Theres an amazing piece of sapele in the garage that i havent unwrapped yet.

This is some of my Masur/Karelian Birch burl. I had this, along with 3 sister pieces imported from a contact in Ukraine

Can you describe what was entailed in importing it?
Have friends in a number of countries in eastern Europe, but 1.) didn't realize what spectacular wood was there/did not visit wood shops; & 2.) have always had the impression that going to the IRS for a root canal and proctology exam was less painful & had better odds for success than importing raw lumber in small quantities into the US? Was there subterfuge involved? have i been misinformed? or is there a simple process?
