Too bad no there's no footage from the baths - or was that Greece? Thing looks like a pestle. Probably put productivity at the bakery through the roof. There was definitely some open shaming in Rome.

Or new pool glasses, the cheapskate way
I don't know anything about wood. Why would the growth rings be so much closer on the 50's wood for a same size cut? What causes that to happen?
Old growth natural forest vs. today's replanted forest with tree spacing for faster growth.I don't know anything about wood. Why would the growth rings be so much closer on the 50's wood for a same size cut? What causes that to happen?
Just a guess here, but this makes sense...I don't know anything about wood. Why would the growth rings be so much closer on the 50's wood for a same size cut? What causes that to happen?

Makes sense. It’s a woody, after all.
Also hardwoods vs. evergreens. Hardwoods grow until dormancy (winter) while evergreens may grow year round. Most every old growth forest in the South was replanted with pine species.Old growth natural forest vs. today's replanted forest with tree spacing for faster growth.
I'say you it still does.Needs more funny
That too...I had a friend who worked running a tree nursery for a large timber company. Grew seedling for replanting projects. Not so much genetic engineering, but seeds selected for high growth rate, the various altitudes the trees to be planted at, etc. Trees are just another crop...that takes longer to reach harvest than corn.Just a guess here, but this makes sense...
Genetically engineered trees made to grow faster. They kept replanting varieties that grew the fastest and this is what they ended up with
