Hello - first time poster here.
This forum helped me A LOT setting up my used table. Bought a prostar tournament table (copy of a GC IV), but i tweaked it so that it plays much better than original.
Pockets were too big and the angle was a nightmare - 145°. I have now 4,5" / 140° pockets - plays great for me. Did it the right way with subrail-mod, did not stack more facings to achieve the tighter pockets
Table turned out really great, but boy this was a hell of a ride! Some work pretty fun, but especially the rail-mod was a nightmare without the right tools.
I recovered the table with the stretch-index method wit Simonis 860 - worked perfectly! The only "problem" now is that I did not do the cushion covering right. The corner pockets are OKish, only some small wrinkles but they dont harm the playability. The bigger problem ist the folding on the sidepockets - I did not stretch it enough and simply did a bad job. Now I have a "nose" on the sidepockets, so that some railshots are impossible. The balls nose simply destroys it...
Maybe you can see it on the picture - sorry for the mess. This was the exactly moment the table was finished and it is the only photo I have - the room is cleaned up now
So my plan is to redo the cushions again - but this time the right way without wrinkles and bad folding. I want to buy the Simonis DVDs, but I dont know where to get them in Europe.
So if anyone has a source for me it would be perfect - thank you guys!
