How do the Mosconi Cup daily selections work?

Hope someone might know....

I know how players qualify for the Mosconi Cup, but does anyone know how the captains make their selections for the day? Do they make their own selections and they simply just pair them up against the other team's? Or, does that lead to potential to have uneven matchups, so they actually consider the selections? Or maybe the "home" team puts forward their selections first?

I'm asking because we're putting a two team event together in London and we want to keep to the same format as the Mosconi Cup.

Many thanks in advance

The captains have to fill out their full lineup in the morning of each day without seeing what the other captain is doing.

(There are several rules about how many times each player must play and such, but I think it's just that everyone has to have about the same number of matches. I don't know if every player has to be in a doubles match.)

Thanks very much. Is there anything online about this? I couldn't find anything...

So basically a blind draw. Could face the same player twice, etc...thanks.

I will add that match one of day two is a "fans choice" singles match and the participants are selected by fan vote.

And, for the last two years, the first match of Day 4 was a fans' choice doubles match.

The selection rules have changed from time to time. They are posted each year on Matchroom's "Match Schedule" page among the scores for each match. Those pages are available in the "History" section of Matchroom's Mosconi Cup website. Unfortunately, I think there are some errors in what they have posted there. I think the rules were the same for 2021 and 2022, and here is what they seem to me to have been, quoting Matchroom's language from a few past years:

Match 1 (Team) -- "All 5 to play"
Matches 2-4 (Doubles, Singles, Doubles) -- "All players to have played once in matches 2-4"
Match 5 (First match of Day 2, Singles) -- "Fans' Choice Singles Match (public poll)"
Match 8 (Singles) -- "Cannot be the same player as Match 6," which was a Singles match
Matches 7-9 (Doubles, Singles, Doubles) -- "All players have to have played once in matches 7-9"
Match 10 (Singles) -- "Cannot be the same player as Match 6 and 8," which were both Singles matches
Match 12 (Singles) -- "Cannot be the same player as Matches 6, 8 and 10," which were all Singles matches
Match 14 (Singles) -- "Must be the player who did not play in Matches 6, 8, 10 & 12) (all players must play at least once in matches 10-14)," where
matches 11 and 13 were Doubles
Match 15 (First match of Day 4, Doubles) -- "Fans' Choice Doubles match (public poll)"
Matches 16-20 (all Singles matches) -- "All players to have played once in matches 16 – 20"
Match 21 (Singles) -- "Captains' Pick"
