Poolgame: Kill the King

Yes 👍
Im away for a week though. Back on monday 8th. Got my phone but chalky is difficult on phone.

We could also try your rule with the super simple variant. Super simple: 5 balls, 1 to 5. The 2 is kingslayer and 5 is King. No saboteur or assassin by default, but if you want either it's possible. At setup you setup all 5 balls, no reservists.

Maybe set up anywhere on table? Not on just one half?

And id say middle pockets are game for us both?
That sounds worth trying. Give me a PM when you're back and we'll have a look at it.

Hang on, it's going to be 'King's Week' in the Netherlands (or something similar) isn't it? My knowledge of this is so hazy that it's almost non-existent, but I think I heard about it recently...

We can do the setup! That's doable on mobile. Drawing lines is difficult.

Yeah the 27th of April is King's day in Holland. Worth a visit for sure! All day and night party for all ages.

2 = kingslayer
5 = king

I place the 3: https://pad.chalkysticks.com/2fb5a

So you can place anywhere on the table. Pot balls anywhere? Or I can pot right corner pockets and sides? (you left and sides)

You know you could get in a lot of trouble for playing Kill the King on King's day. And now he's even orange...

If we're placing anywhere on the table, I'll go here: https://pad.chalkysticks.com/b92ea
Haha yes playing a dangerous game here! De Oranjes are Bildenberg members. Theyve made people Disappear for far less!

Im just going to place here: https://pad.chalkysticks.com/4ff46

Btw this time I will start shooting, because you are last to place.

I hadn't heard of them. Are they extreme neoliberals, or just 'regular' free-marketers? (The UK has a problem with the neoliberal thinktank industry - our previous prime minister, Lizz Truss was one of theirs - she lasted six weeks, threw the financial markets into chaos, and was forced to resign. Which only makes her our third-worst British prime minister of the last couple of decades...)

Hey a quick question, if I may: The company I work for has a Belgian office and I think they work in Flemish. In practice, if I was to learn some standard Dutch, do you think that be good enough to communicate with them?

Never hurts to learn and they would appreciate it, for sure! Dutch is really difficult though, especially if you want to write at business level. Friendly chatter is doable in weeks or a couple months, but formal emails or documents would require years of study...

Friendly chatter is about all I was aiming for. I speak a few languages very badly but it's nice to have a little bit. I think I'd struggle to make the time to practice consistently to become fluent.

Yeah it's so difficult to get it right. Not worth the effort imo. If you learn a couple (appropriate) corporate lines they would be very surprised and laugh.

I hope that's not your conclusion from your own experience! (Presumably you're bilingual.)

I found a good CD series that does a few languages, which usually gets me to the level of basic conversation speaking very slowly! I've not really found anything good to bridge the gap from there to 'normal' conversation.

Ill have to be home to use chalky on desktop. In this turn id rather shoot IRL because I can draw it all out, but would it work as planned IRL? Well never know.
You're right, but chalkysticks has been a good starting point, in the absence of real testing.
