my take away from that match is phil yates' saying "well dan, suh!". 🙄
i guess he needed to get it out of his system
I don't know if Dan Suh is that bad normally but he sure stunk. On the other hand Jack didn't know the rules or the moves and with time playing with somebody to give him some instruction could be a decent player.

Meanwhile, Albin lost his opener to Phillip Wildman. .. o_O
a 522 fargo... whoa! Nice notch on his belt!

Looked up a few Americans... Only 2 of the names I didn't recognize had over 600FR... but I guess that similar to the Open here too

That’s wild, man. How did Philip flip that into a win with Fargorate of 522 which is 300 below Albin. Likely to be biggest upset of this event.
Form’s not all been good for Albin since his very substandard performance in his pet event, Premier League Pool (PLP) earlier this year. :ROFLMAO:

If he is a legitimate Fargo 522 then that's probably the biggest upset in pool history.

Edit: I don't think it's legit. The Philip Wildman listed at 522 lives in Lubbock, TX, and the guy Albin played is British.

He made this shot which is one of best shots of the match. But it went downhill fast after that and I started thinking even I can beat him (which is saying a lot )

Something seriously wrong with that Fargo number. Probably has all of 5 matches.
Anyone know if he's a English 8 Baller or ?

maybe, but i don't see it with lisowski. gary wilson on the other hand has taken to pool and is now on the hill against tomas kaplan. i liked his game last year in this event, and he seems to be by far the best of the snooker contingent

It seems like top 20 or so snooker players are 680-700 FR in pool by default just from potting ability alone. A few months of practice likely pushes them into the 725 range. But at a certain point in a tournament, being an elite shotmaker doesn't help much, if at all, because their competition is guys who shoot just as straight as them, but who also vastly outclass them in every other skill required in pool. Hence Judd getting thumped by Shaw a couple years ago as if he were a 550 FR.

not sure about the numbers but yes, pool players are specialists and hard to beat unless you specialize yourself. gary wilson, unlike lisowski and trump, seems to have practiced and studied 9-ball and can probably make more damage than the others.
