i suspected phone myint kyaw wouldn't be seeded, even though he won the SEA games last week, beating yapp, chua etc. definitely a dark horse.

other noteworthy cross-discipline participants are snooker players gary wilson and david lilley. wilson played quite good last year

They announced some open spots to the waiting list people and they seem to have filled those within a few hours.

Crazy difficult event to win, but a field swimming with dead money. This event is sure to build to a great climax, just as it did a year ago.

The event wasn't a nineball ranking event.

In any case the nineball rankings are based on prizemoney and the SEA games is all about medals.

At $250 to get in, anyone in the UK who can play a lick has to enter. It would be interesting to see upper half/lower half FargoRate numbers.

With all those 800s it will be no easy win for anyone. I wonder who is missing.

Dennis Orcullo played in last year's UK Open (and the World Pool Masters which immediately preceded it) but is not in the field.

These FR 800+ below who are listed as active on Fargorate are absent. Surprised that top UK 9B Mark Gray and top Polish 2022 World 10 ball champion Wojciech not playing
Dennis Orcollo
Jeffrey Ignacio
Johann Chua
Lee Van Corteza
Mark Gray
Mike Dechaine
Roland Garcia
Wojciech Szewczyk
Daniel Maciol

Notable "Inactive" 800+ absent are Wu, Anton Raga and Chen Siming

There are European Pool Championships scheduled 01 June - 11 June, thus both Polish players (Szewczyk and Maciol) chose to play in Finland rather than in UK Open. Possibly some other players might have made similar decision

Interesting. Former Mosconi cup representative and local Mark Gray not there. Has he left pool scene?

At least gorst made it this time, be good to see him play.
Yes, a pleasant surprise. When he didn't get the visa on time for the WPM a couple of weeks ago, one had to figure he'd miss the UK Open.

His return to international play is something pool fans have been waiting for. Wishing him the best of luck as his life gradually returns to normalcy.

UK Open betting odds is a joke
Snooker player Jack Lisowski same as Chris Melling? They are giving too much respect to snooker players. Should be 100 or more
Albin , Ko should be 9/1 or 10/1, Biado should less than 20 😄 If Kazakis, Aranas are in there, where aren't Chang Jung Lin, Ko Ping Chung, Aloysius Yapp, Zielinski ?
