Equipment Variation: A dimpled cue ball

I have spent some time at the golf range and first thought was what if a cue ball was dimpled?

Would it be a like a sand trap or hazard? A required challenge to know and manage.

What if the pockets had flags sticking out of them?

I was thinking a flat surface at the rear of the pocket to increase chance of return.

The purpose of equipment variation is to explore different physical concepts and identify any interesting situations. Situations to increase difficulty.

Belongs in the funny pic/gif thread

Do you know why golf balls are dimpled?

Golf balls have dimples in them to improve their aerodynamics.

Pool balls are rarely aerodynamic devices.

What if you knew what a cue ball is used for?

pj <- look up "billiards"

There is a lot of documentation on what cue ball is used for. I know what a cueball is used for.

I have always been interesting in developing an original pool show routine.

Talking about engineering during shooting would be part of my routine.

Its nice you are posting on the thread. Thanks.

I think you have a good idea but you are looking at the wrong end of the collision. Think about that for a moment.
