Out of fear of warping, I will not leave a cue in my car for any extended period, whether for a couple of hours, overnight, or for days on end. But, I have occasionally read that some folks have kept their cues in cars for long periods without any harm coming to them. What is y'alls experience?

Wrap them in a wool blanket or a comforter….handles cold and heat well.
 
Twelve piece diamond wood butt and Revo shaft. Should be good in the trunk till WW3 or 2424.
 
I had my cue in the car one time. McDermott plain Jane. It didn’t warp but the stain liquified and ran down and ruined the wrap. Temp was 106. I stopped off at a girl’s house on the way home from the pool room and stayed a little longer than expected.

I traded it in on my Schon at Showcase. Clay did me a favor on the trade in but he couldn’t believe it was only heat. He thought it must have gotten wet.
 
I question their warping in the heat because almost all the wood in the shafts and butts is kiln dried at much higher temperatures than in a heated car's interior.
 
Not heat but, Twice I’ve seen cues left in cars during the winter get destroyed. The butts came apart around all the glued joints.
 
....someone will chirp in about their cue they have left in trunk or their car for 30 years through blazing summers and sub freezing winters and it's still 'straight as an arrow'🤣

Me.. cues stay in pad when not transporting, Im not rolling the dice of getting them ripped or damaged by extreme temps
 
Cues are only getting destroyed by the fluxating temperture extremes. Don't leave a cue in a cold car and play in the pool hall for a few hours then go back. You need to bring it to temp slowly.

AFAIK, the higher the wood density, the more likely it is to expand with heat. I never store my cues in the car given how hot it gets out here in the west coast. A former classmate of mine left his cue in his car at Las Vegas for 3 days. It did not survive the ordeal.

My first real cue that I bought with my own money was a McDermott in about 1995. I left it in my trunk or behind my truck seat for at least a decade. Iowa winters and Iowa summers. It's still dead straight 25 years later. I mean DEAD straight, no taper rolls or anything.

I stopped leaving it in my car after hearing horror stories about warping cues, but I don't think this cue in particular will ever warp. You can't say that for all wood as it's a natural product and can vary. I won the wood lottery I guess.
 
More likely your wooden shafts are aged, as the great cuemakers prefer.
It's the reason why Kikel, when cutting a shaft down, takes allot of time.
After each cut, it rests Vertical.... to release it's natural tension to change direction.
 
My first cue I played with for about 20 years was often left in the car and both my shafts warped. One of the minor conveniences I enjoy about switching to CF.
