Testing Your Stroke

Nice. I’m happy simply scoring and would mostly kick at the next shot as per my stroke and lack of aggressive play (for now). But it definitely a stroke shot to practice. The difference between closing or chasing the last ball

No, your video said it was airborne for you, so there’s your 10,000, lol.

Anywhos, I just propped up a trash can on an adjoining table at the PR, leaned my phone on it and shot it on a Diamond a few minutes ago.

Made it on the first try. I’ll post the clip when I get home.

btw how do you like
your crow prepared?
I like the 'Trash Can' part. It will the most informative aspect of the vid.

About as informative as your video was about “testing your stroke,” Mr Airborne ;-)

Besides, the trash can reflects the amount of energy I was willing to waste on this.

go back and look again
it definitely is past the ball
look at his timing
i would not call it a jab
One thing pool players tend to discredit is stroke types and there are a lot, depending on the action desired.

3c players play certain shots with specific strokes.I never really saw such a thin with pool and perhaps it is an unnecessary subtlety with pool. I dunno.

I just saw the vid and as I see it...

You are gonna scratch on that one with regularity.

Not that great a shot if you like money, imo.
You know what I did wrong? No 'Integer' with this shot. LOL!

If a player come close to 'Scratching' they hit it too good.

Can't say I'm smart enough to NOT shoot that shot yesterday or tomorrow but I think the shot off the point is more better for me.

Lou called my follow shot off the cushion, 'Airborne.'

This IS Me doing 'Airborne.'

Both the CB and OB are frozen to the long cushion.

He made your shot, Bill. Good for him. Would you like to describe your technique to us now?
PVC, I gave lou his props, "Nice shot." He was defiantly 'jacked up' on the rail, so, His CB I'm pretty sure was 'airborne/piquet/semi-masse path to the OB.

I don't need to 'jump through hoops' to make the ball and get the effect on the CB I want.

So what is your technique?

I am very curious, and I hope you'll explain it.

The stroke for this shot so as to get as little 'deflection' as possible requires the stroke to be a perfectly timed 'Short' stroke. Not a jab! The Vertical & Horizontal plane of the cue must be perfectly 'Straight!'

If you notice in "My" video, the cue Never varies/moves off the Vertical & Horizontal line of aim. If you play the video in, slow/super slow motion the cue still looks like it is a photo not video.

Every shot player's shoot has its Own 'stroke/timing/tempo and speed.'

Thank you for your explanation, Bill.

I watched it again 4-5 times in the slowest speed with full screen mode. It's kind of hard to see what's going on even at the slowest speed, but I'll take your word for it and see if I can discover what you call a perfectly timed short stroke (that is not a jab).

I only have access to billiard tables these days, and I find that I have a lot of trouble getting the 1 to turn that far inside when coming off the 2 at this type of angle. I have been thinking that it's because billiard balls are bigger than pool balls...at the same time, I know that my short stroke is not very good...like when I'm playing straight rail.

Looking forward to more feedback/info, if you want to share it.

Best,

Lou
