Fedor Vs Tony 1 pkt

Fedor called him out in the post match interview. Any game.
Gorst against Filler in an all-around is a very difficult call. Both are amazing at each of 9ball, 10ball, one-pocket, banks and straight pool and an all-around covering all five disciplines would be breathtaking.
Where does Kaci fall in these contest, I think he beats Filler and Shane in rotation games

switch bank pool with 8-ball and kaci has a good chance. filler's best games are 9-ball and straight pool

Translation: "I'd rather not gamble with Fedor." Do you think Predator could care less whether its sponsored players gamble against each other? Just like Cuetec and every other sponsor, all they want is for their brand to be as visible as possible.

Personally, I don't think Shane is the favorite to beat Fedor at anything in a long match on a nine-footer. Maybe Shane had the stamina of a young man a few years ago, but this year's mismanaged Derby City 9-ball, sadly, came down to stamina, when both Shane and Fedor had to play through Saturday night and into Sunday morning. Fedor beat Shane easily in the final.
I'd just like to see it, I'll still bet with Shane, 9 Ball race to 20/25 or 10 Ball, but One Pocket its hard to see anybody dealing with him other than Dennis.

That's kind of weird. Does Cutec think because one of them has to lose we're all going to lose confidence in Cutec? A tennis racket company would love it if two of their sponsored players met in the finals of every tournament.

Here's another data point: if they're both sponsored by Cutec, how come no one told Fedor Cuetec doesn't want the match? I'm thinking Shane is ducking. Don't blame him.
I dont have the whole story because I wasn't able to ask Fador when or where Shane told him that, I'll ask Shane if he comes to the Texas Open.

Absolutely! The true greats have always figured out how to beat even the specialists in pool's fringe games. Fedor won all three disciplines at Derby City by the age of 22. Filler had a top 5 in all divisions of the 2023 Derby City Classic and also won a long one-pocket race against Chohan in what I believe was 2020. Dennis, Alex, Efren, Sigel and Varner were all outstanding across all the disciplines.
What is the ‘non-fringe game’ if I may ask my friend?

If Shane plays his "A" game, it's even money. It's not easy bringing your "A" game every time though. That Kid is just too talented and hungry.

Gambling and matching up even, doesn't make sense if it's your money.
Great gamblers most often know the outcome, before the moneys down.
Any gambling match with a Pinoy playing with his own bankroll, or with his backers bankroll, the Pinoys have proven themselves to be winners waaaaaaaaaaaaay more often than losers.
I'd like too see Ghorst give Cohan 5 games on the wire going to 11, with Tony picking the cue ball and table.

That's 9ball, the game that has far more events than all the other disciplines combined. On a bar table, both eight ball and 9ball are non-fringe.

The fringe games (10ball, big table 8ball, one pocket, banks, straight pool, etc.) are those that are not contested nearly as often. As we've seen, the fringe games can be just as entertaining, even more entertaining, than any other game.

Hope you're well, Steve.

I agree and thats why I'd like to see the games played short enough for Shane to stay there. The races to 100 are just to long and turn into a test of concentration more than skill. I still think its close with Shane, Fador or Dennis on any given day.

Tony would be a big favorite. Three on eleven sounds fairer to me. Gorst probably can't give five on eleven to anyone rated over Fargo 720.

Well said. Awfully few understand this. Races to 100 are not and have never been the true measuring stick for excellence because non-pool factors are part of the picture. Shane is the underdog to Fedor in a race of any length, but in a set of manageable length, Shane has a decent chance to get to the finish line. For example, the race to 17 played between Filler and JL Chang at the 2019 Derby City Classic was long enough to produce a deserving winner and short enough that stamina was not a significant issue. If you want more pool than that, how about the match played between Kaci and Pagulayan at Grif's in Las Vegas several years ago. Best of five sets, Race to 21 with breaks between sets.

i doubt many would agree with that definition. 10-ball has its own pro tour and is the main money game in philippines. the upcoming world 8-ball championship in austria will see a 75k winner's check, currently only overshadowed by the 750k chinese 8-ball earlier this year. bank pool and one pocket are played mainly in (parts of) the US so it's reasonable to call them fringe

Fedor mentioned Alex in the post-match interview and said he's not ready for him yet.

When Alex is fully engaged and practicing hard, he is the toughest to beat at one-pocket. He has the Efrenesque quality of knowing, more than any other player in the world, how to defend a winning position. A fully engaged Alex would have a close match with Fedor.

Even at one pocket, Fedor would be favored over a less than fully engaged Alex.

What people play when they gamble is irrelevant. Competition determines what the main games are, and I know countless fans who have never even heard of 10ball. Yes, 10ball is less fringe than it was, but the world pool calendar doesn't feature much 10ball, while 9ball has been the primary pro discipline for about 40 years and the world of competitive 9ball continues to grow rapidly.
