I've used Ben Tubbs for decades, but last couple of times he knicked one of the ferrules and got super glue on the shaft. I think he's losing his touch a bit. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for where to go to get a tip replaced on both standard wood shafts and CF shafts in Dallas.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Wow! Same question I wanted to post. I’m in west Texas and in the same situation, the guy that used to do my tip R&R for me has passed away and the new guy has nicked my ferrule…so anyway, wondering who to go to, maybe Ft. Worth Billiards?

Omega Billiards in Hurst. Great little shop. The sell tons of Diamonds and can put any tip you want on anything. I wish I lived closer so I could get in there more often.

I like Omega, but they're a bit of a hike. If I was in West Texas, I'd send mine to proficient billiards in the mail. I may do that if I can't find someone local.

Fort Worth Billiards does good work. $15 tip replacement if you bring your own tip. I've never used Omega, so I cannot comment on their pricing nor quality of work. Great store though.

Tubbs is a hell of a guy, hope he's doing alright. Try Robert Franco, he usually hangs out at ck's on skillman. There's also billiard & game supply in old east Dallas. Peak St just south of I30.

Yeah I can't imagine what Ben has seen in his years around pool. Just working at CJs must have been an experience, but everything before and after is probably fascinating as well.
Thanks for the lead, is Franco around on particular days/nights?

Tournament nights for sure. I haven't been around Dallas in a couple of years but they were held on Tuesdays at the time. He's on facebook if you want to get in touch with him:

Ship it to Seyberts, always a quality job

That's a good lead too, thank you! I would prefer to avoid mailing unless necessary, but Seyberts was not a consideration until you mentioned it. I'm surprised I don't have more options in Dallas though. I guess it speaks to the dwindling nature of pool in the US.

Works great.

I learned how to replace tips on my own. Just waste of money and time having someone else do it for me. Plus i'm going to do a better job. All i ever use is a razor blade, sand paper and a shaper and some good cement. Plenty of videos out on youtube that will teach you how.
