The shot was side rail, ball, side rail again, go across the table for the other side rail, end rail and left side rail for the third time. Five cushions.

Rail-ball-rail all right together is called a "ticky". It is an absolutely standard 3C shot to get two cushions on one.

what does that do? Slicken up the cueball to allow more english/draw? I want to try it. The table i play on at local bar is filthy ass dirty

Silicone spray or wax makes the ball play as if it is on new, slippery cloth. It doesn't make more english, but it does delay the action of draw and follow, and makes it so not all of the side spin wears off on the first two or three cushions.

There was a former US Champion 3C player in this area who used to spray the cushions with silicone if he had a tournament coming up and the cloth on the table was old. That makes the cloth play more like new. The difference in action if very important in 3C.

You can also use paste wax if you have that handy.

I did a prank on a practice partner once. The cloth on the pool table was clean but worn, so you had to work to get a long-distance stop shot. I put a ball near the pocket and the cue ball behind the line and said I bet him he couldn't play a stop shot. He played the shot perfectly but I had waxed the cue ball and he kept drawing the cue ball back a couple of diamonds.

In tournaments it seems that the top players draw the cue ball with ease. That's partly due to their great strokes but also due to the brand new, slippery cloth.

i have some collinite 845 wax. It is the longest lasting most durable car wax I have ever used.

the red has moved a little bit ;-) , but it's hard to see "live" ... that's a very nice figure ;-)
 
Noone has mentioned the 'ticky' aspect of the shot happens before being parallel to the red ball, then goes forward and around the red and then draws and picks up speed to finish the shot.

Might be chalk. Usually the slippery stuff is not visible. If you look at some of the artistic billiard videos you can tell they've been pounding the same spot for a masse shot for a while.
 
I've done many, many clinics/exhibitions over 50 years. NEVER have I used any foreign substance on the balls to achieve the effect that is intended for the shot.

This is video from 1983 at 20th Century Billiards in Chicago, on a Brunswick Anniversary 3C table with K43 rubber and Simonis Super Reulant cloth that was about 3 months old.

BTW, this was at a time when, portable video cameras/recorders were just becoming for sale to the public. VERY expensive then for Panasonic equipment.

I get it now, I didnt know the rail before object ball counted and it was hard to tell at full speed that it hit the side rail twice before going down and doubling the corner. Thank you for the correction.
