Fedor Departs CueTec...?

If I remember right, Whyte Carbon makes the carbon shafts for Viking. So its all in the same family.
Two brands owned by the same daddy corp... 'gotta Make that bread. It's a bit like when Minolta made the CLE for Leica, and it out performed Leica's own cameras, so they killed it. Couldn't have one brand out-doing another... get the people to buy the expensive custom shaft... get people to also invest in the named brand. I'd say it's clever... but it's just consumer nonsense.
Like Fedor, but feel he'd do just as well with a broom handle :ROFLMAO:

Shoot, in my area, there are more FR 400 players with Revo's and BK Rush's than any other cue...with Meucci a close second. Can't run 2 balls, but they got the latest and greatest shaft, screw in extension for 7 ft. table, kamui tip, carrying TAOM chalk, and their Molinari glove, their Hustlin' T shirt, flat billed trucker cap, and blue jeans with weird designs on the back pockets. THESE are the companies marketing to league players.

Maybe Fedor could be the first?:giggle:
Yup. That’s how golf companies make money. The difference is in golf no one cares when a 20 handy capper shows up with new Clubs he paid 2 grand for. In pool guys like you get ass hurt by it. Who cares. We need those players of all skill levels to spend money on the game.

I am sure whtye carbon is a great product but not many people are going to pay 700 then chase Viking butt down or attach it to current player at that price point. I rather have entire cue by the same builder not peace together by 2 different companies. Much like been happening with custom cues in the past few years more often. Builder buys the full splice blank and then finishes the cue. 2 names on 1 cue. Zero value for me. Again its all personal what a individual likes.

Builders using blanks has been going on for a long time.

from a marketing standpoint i'm not convinced either. i noted that if you go on vikings website, the shaft option whyte carbon is there. but for the intended target (pool fans, fedor fans) it would probably be more effective if they saw one cue brand rather than butt brand + shaft brand. but i'm no marketing specialist..

You can get a WC to fit most cues at around 500. 700 is for more custom options. Most players today could not care less about full custom/partial custom/no custom. Go to most tourn's. these days and you see mostly split-brand cue/shaft combos. People want a cue that plays good and thats all.

WC makes the Siege btw.

Yes it was satire, sometimes this misses people that don't function at a high level
Easy to say now you were proved to be 100% wrong. Believing the first internet rumor you hear is often a case of not functioning at a high level. ;)

abominations.

I personally think they should have gone with one brand name for the cue Fedor will be playing. Like have the Siege for the Viking cues and WC for aftermarket or something. There was nothing on Viking's website yesterday. I am definitely not a business or marketing person, but if I signed Fedor I would want a way that the consumer could buy a Viking branded cue and shaft combo that Fedor would be playing the day of the announcement. Like here is the Fedor model with a Siege shaft available today for X price. Here are four other similar cues with color and wrap options that look good with the shaft. But that's just me I guess.
