Another chicken shit “foul”

But this man obviously didn’t know it and looks like a professional

Nor did jin ling about a week ago another professional

Step back and ask yourselves out loud are these fouls really necessary, I bet it’ll sound quite silly to you to

And yes whether or not the rules shouldn’t exist is exactly the discussion here

I think that he knew it, he was just surprised that it would be called. If he didn't, he should have.

Are they necessary? Maybe not. But as long as they're in the rules they have to be called at the serious/professional level or we lose all credibility as a game/sport.

Either call the rules as they exist. Or change the rules.

I doubt he did or why would he try it
The game loses credibility on shit like this
Should be changed

That's just dumb. Where credibility is lost is in allowing something like that to cost a player a game. Who didn't watch that video and think "That's incredible"? A literal loss of credibility right there in the words (or is it decredible?).

Someone not familiar with the sport looks at it and thinks "What kind of game/sport is this? They can't even come up with rules that make sense."

Either call the rules as they exist. Or change the rules.
I vote both. What? I don't get a vote? Where in the rules does it say that?

I agree. Call the rules as they exist right now, and then worked like hell to change them to reflect the way they should really be.

And then, call them as they exist in their new form. Whatever that looks like.

Some super event when even the crowd would not approve of such a call.no one would approve of it other than the guy that steals the win, and probably Mika , who for a second looked like the other player to me pointing at the table

I'm not disagreeing with you, I just think there is no point in even talking about this. It's going to get called at these large scale events, even if the crowd thinks it is stupid.

There's actually a side discussion to be had here…

We struggle to attract qualified/top referees. Yet, when one calls something in accordance with the rules, people lose their minds and call it "chickenshit".

Who here would want to sign up for that job?!

So let's change it.

Until we do, call the game and the rules as they exist.

Once they change, call the game and the rules as they exist.
There’s no need for this foul to ever be called whether it exits on the books or not
It completely disrespectful to the game

It’s because it is chicken shit
Not losing anyone’s mind just calling it what it is
And it’s exactly that

Agreed, I would be fired as a ref or TD before I ever enforced that foul in that situation, regardless of what the rule states, and I’ve played this game for 55 years and been a tournament director for 27+ years.

A TD can set his own rules.

But who in the world would ever hire a referee who refused to enforce the rules that the Tournament Director establishes?

I just watched the Orcollo Tomoya match @garczar posted and the commentary made a reference to pattern rack prevention. Apparently, with ball return tables, the balls should be lined up on the rail, blind, and the balls subsequently placed row by row on the template in outside pairs. IOW only the outer balls in the line are available for placement. This was new to me despite having seen it numerous times. Orcollo is pretty slick with stacking the the line under these conditions but observably so. Nobody called.
What are the racking fouls Lehman needs to know?
:D

I have a question for you all. Football (American). Player with ball running down the sidelines. Nobody between him and end zone. 5 yards from scoring he tosses the ball into the sidelines. What happens? Are the refs blamed for "chicken shit" call? Is the opposing team lambasted for not giving up the points?

Just saying? In life. War. Work. Church. Home. Play Ground. Pool Hall. Actions have consequences. Own it.

so the guy that made the last ball was bringing balls onto the table while the cue ball was still in motion. was that the foul in a tournament?
Watching the Japanese event... Dennis Orcollo did this many times agains Kohei Inoue. Not a foul there... In fact, I have seen it in other matches in this event too... Seems like another rule that needs a bit more specific wording and application...

Lmao that’s so not even close to what happened here give me a break
Really grasping at straws with that one

It's not same. They are not playing the same sport. Surprise. By picking the balls out of the pocket while the cueball is in motion he gave away the game. Your like a clown in a bar who complains when you play safe.

Best case. He was ignorant to the rule (probably not).

Totally different, ball is still in play, idiot let it drop and should be punished. Ball is the determining factor of the play. In pool, in this case, the balls the player put on the table had ZERO effect. Cucks are gonna cuck

He has to carry the ball across the line, once it's across the line who cares what happens to it. The ball is the total game - once it's across the line it's over. Sleep well

You think a rule makes your a better player lmao
Nope. I know I'm smart enough to read, understand, and follow them without crying about them or making up my own rules. If I don't like the rules, I don't play. You're no different than every set of bar rules with their own excuses
