Why though? It's a suggestion without any sort of an explanation at this point.

He played exactly like you would expect. Just not a world beater.

The real problem is that Team USA cannot replace him with a stronger player and he's probably not going to turn into a low 800 fargo any time soon or probably ever. Same with Styer.

Europe could have fielded 4 more teams that would have dominated USA in similar fashion

But they are the best we have which is the problem. With no solution in sight.

Josh Robert’s would have been a better choice than Woolford, and so would Oscar Dominguez or Billy Thorpe.
 
If there was an open try out for a remaining or alternate spot, then that would allow gamblers at chance on the team.

If you can buy your way on to team USA it fits the matchroom narrative.
 
If America's Top Gun SVB announced siding against WPA,

Then he better be good enough to train today's players to win on word go. SVB's culture of talking about doing well for next year is middle man BS.

SVB should take a break from competition and focus on youth development because the future of American pool depends on his leadership.

He alone can't win the Mosconi and he doesn't have the leadership experience other team based systems provide.

Feels like we either fell back in time or you just found the internet. Whatever happened, it’s a bit bizarre. Welcome to AZBilliards, I guess. I suppose I could put you on the ignore list. I suspect others already have. I’m slow like that.

Oscar should always be in consideration. He still looks to be at his peak. I remember him mentioning family life has slowed down his travel and playing but his pool room holds big tournaments so he can stays in form.

Family man, good head on his shoulders and a veteran. Probably much more wiser too. I would take him.

Because he knows better than the 10,000 AZB members, which include a high number of players that study this game with intensity, including instructors, lurking professionals, state and national champions, etc. It’s the Fast Larry Effect.
 
Train them to gamble with old men at their local pool room. Play in weekly tournaments at local pool rooms too.

Teaching them how to gamble will skip months and years of training in half. Quickest head start.

Training cannot replicate what happens in a real game or a gambling game. You see more gambling than even tournaments.

American boys need a beating from Top WPBA pros. However Team USA is too cheap to pay for instructions.

Can someone sponsor them lessons with WPBA development pros? The training structure for Team USA has been failing and neglected for years with Shane just hoping players make the shot.

Team USA needs female management like Ara Shaw. You know how boys are they too scared to ask mom for help when they know dad cant get it done.

Shane is about his brand and only plays for himself. This isn’t a knock on him but we all know he isn’t the guy to lead pool here in the States.

I don’t blame him for building his brand and making money.

Ara has the best inside information on players from the UK and Ireland. If Team USA has to train for Mosconi it should be at US 1 with contracted WPBA instructors and the imported regulars.

Shane has competition knowledge and experience. Ara has player management and development experience.

If America picked 5 losers that never made it past two years of Mosconi they have a retention problem. Retention problems are because of bad instruction. ( I am highly experienced in that area) That is why NASA had to outsource, too much bad management.

No need to be scientific to have a point indeed but at least give some basic level explanation to have some merit in your idea. If what you say is true, there are reasons/explanations behind it. What are they? If you don't know, then that is a valid thing to say too. But not even mentioning reasons in any way makes your point pretty useless to most.

There's top pros who play primarily with a closed bridge. Do you think they are doing it wrong?
 
In other sports there is always a training camp with a specific purpose with hired sparring partners

Watch Rocky, Creed, Mighty Ducks, Bad News Bears any sports movie basically has the formula. Sadly none of the pool movies had a training montage.

Are the Top USA male pros too cheap to pay for instruction by the women.

Male pool players have always made more money, they should be able to afford some lessons from the women. At least sign up for the free one and sit through the sales pitch.

Do not try to flirt with the female instructors. After they hurt your pride, you will know to act right.
