What player, of all-time do you think made pool look the easiest?

The point about how Mosconi played is that he didn't make the shots look like hangers for him -- he made them look like hangers for you. Willie was very proud of his precision position play.
Wish there was more video of Mosconi easily available on the internet. The few videos on Youtube of him, unless I'm missing some, are of him well past his prime presumably. But even at that one can see his quality. Love his follow through particularly.

I heard Jim Rempe comment on the term "it's a Cosmo" and where it came from. The term according to Rempe meant when you have a 'connect the dots' type run out that was a sure thing. He said Tom Cosmo when giving exhibitions used to shoot a shot and then dance around the table to be in perfect position for the cue ball when it stopped. So that's why a lot of the old time players used to say "it's a Cosmo" when they had a sure run out!
As part of his exhibition Cosmo used to set up all nine balls so that each shot was a stop shot to the next ball. Then he would “run out” the rack while jabbering away about his great skill. It was hilarious! You had to be there.,..

So this is all subjective, very much based on personal experienc.
For me, it was Cornbread Red and Jimmy Moore.

i think that's about a decade before ronnie's immature shoulder barge thing. maybe he will mature after 50, who knows.
Here's some great insights into where his head is at now. Even a little on where it's been. His journey, so to speak.
Ronnie opening up like this takes GOAT to another level. Anyone that has competed will find something in this that hits a cord. The left hand really parallel s myself (just a different scale 😉).

Yeah, that's what puts him at the top of the list for making the game look easy. All the rest make it look easy for them, as someone else said here, he made it look like you could buy a table and be running racks in a couple of weeks.

Bugs makes banks look like hangers
There's an instructional code of him on YouTube. His vocabulary of banks and how to hit them is staggering. I'm like a little pocket dictionary, he's like a complete set of encyclopedias. I had to stop watching, there are already too many shots I can't make, I don't need to learn more.

His 3 cushion game comes across in his 9 ball game. He doesn't second think going multiple rails with tight position
Like his shot here at 14:25. Excellent announcing, too.
I love how often he shocks and amazes the announcers. I don't think anybody in any sport does it more than Rafael.

I remember a story that the black players in LA used to pass around. Ronnie had Bugs stuck 40K and walking away. Bugs started taking all the up table stuff and broke even. Ronnie quit.

Best I recall it was a young Bugs that tangled with a strong banker. It took Bugs and three or four friends to muster $40 for the first bet. The other player couldn't believe what he was seeing and refused to quit. The normal pool hall was closed and they were playing in a family bowling center.

Finally I think the other player was busted, maybe just terribly frustrated. After losing all evening, down about $750, he turned around and dropped his pants. "You have been screwing me all night, might as well finish the job!" They and all the other pool players were kicked out of the bowling alley, never to return!

From what I've heard, it is easily Willie Mosconi. And I say that because there was a story I read on these forums a while back which had to do with one of Mosconi's exhibitions. After everything was done and all the people applauded, there was one lady who did not think much of what she had just seen. When asked why she didn't find it impressive her answer was something along the lines of, "He never had one hard shot. How was this at all difficult?"

In person, it would have to be Karl Sloezen, who I got a lesson from. And I'm not saying it because he gave me that lesson, but I've never seen someone run rack after rack of straight pool while holding conversation as fluid as he did and explaining what was happening. And he was doing this after showing up, not warming up and on the tightest table in the hall.

From watching videos of guys in their primes? Either Buddy Hall or Rodney Morris. I like Rafael Martinez and thanks to AccuStats I've been able to watch more of him, but he is more of an entertainer than someone who I think made it look easy. Making it look easy to me means you just go up there and shoot. Rafael obviously had to do some thinking before attempting those insane shots.
