So I was just feeling lazy today and was watching some of the older 8 ball tourney matches at Griff's from 2018. I didn't realize it but I finally heard the name of the commentators and lo and behold one of them was AZB's Cornerman. I enjoyed your take on the match, well done.

Cheers,

JL

Thanks! I did that for three years and was the lead for the last two. 8-ball by far is my favorite discipline to do commentary.

I would guess 8 ball at the pro level is the hardest game to commentate, based on all the options the players have, especially early in the game.

It’s my favorite game so it’s not difficult at all. But I dont’ “score” my commentary based on guessing what the professional will do. That’s not my goal in commentary.

One pocket is the toughest for me because I’m just not knowledgeable enough about the game beyond basic concepts. I’d rather have.a knowledgeable partner that I can work off of.

I actually can't stand commentators that constantly do this. Even in the NFL, Tony Romo was the flavor of the month in the commentary booth because he was constantly predicting the correct play. I thought it was just distracting. Sounds like other fans are growing bored with his routine now too. Insight is better than prediction if you ask me. You do that very well.
