Easiest Way to Load Pictures

I am trying to help someone figure out how to load pics and was hoping to find something current in the search history. Unfortunately, I am searching for the wrong thing or it is not available. I can explain how to load from my iPad or iPhone but am not familiar with anything else. Is there a relatively simple explanation on how to upload from a pc or a non iPhone listed here anywhere or can anyone provide one? Thx, Shooter08 (not much of a computer guy)

There is a stick titled "the best way to load images", right above. Hopefully this helps. Brian.

If you're using windows you can just display the photo with what ever app you have, open the snipping tool and get a pic of it and save it, they are small enough to upload.

I upload from my iPhone and iPad. The person trying to upload, I’m not sure what they are using but they did PM pics using Reddit, I believe they are probably using a windows PC. Maybe he will message.
 
I just host the images on imgur.com as hidden, then post links here. This allows you to control images even after being uploaded.

As far as the forum is concerned, that is a very bad way to post images. Those third party host sites keep going away -- or start charging -- and the image disappears.

To answer the question if the person is using a Windows PC ....

  1. Start editing a post.
  2. Get the image on the screen however you can do that.
  3. Hit Windows-Shift-S. That turns on the screen grabber.
  4. Click-and-slide the area you want to grab. (Click on one corner then hold and move the mouse to the other corner of the area you want.) (The image is now in your paste buffer.)
  5. While editing your post, position the cursor where you want the image, and hit CTRL-V or right-paste.
  6. If the image is larger than you want, grab a corner and make it smaller.

A major stumbling block for a lot of people is that the image tools they use make huge image files. The image upload limit on AZB seems to be about 1MB. Usually screen grabs don't go over that.

That's a fair point.

I originally used Photobucket.com to host images, but when they started charging, I moved all images to imgur.com, and the latter has been free for the last 7+ years thanks to hosting ads. The main advantage of 3rd party sites is the ability to host much larger, high resolution images, so if maintaining image quality is the objective, then this seems like a better option, even if the hosting site may change financial models down the road. Users can always edit old posts with newer image links until they pass.

I've only switched image hosting sites once this past decade, so imgur.com seems to be a safer resource than other image hosts. Another nice perk with hosted images is that you can place their links in your signature to display your preferred weapons :) Imgur.com does have an Apple app, and I use it all the time to share images across several sites.

As I've tried to send photos in messages, using a Mac, there is no "paperclip" offered per the YouTube video. So is third party site the only solution for Apple Mac users wanting to message photos? No issue posting to the forum.
