Intentional sharking or not?

If link doesn’t work it relates to Capito tapping his hand whilst his opponent is down on a shot at 9-10. , which he misses

Seen this post on Facebook. What are your thoughts? Lots of pros (Tyler,Margaret,Appleton,Melling,Oscar) making comments, all agreeing it was sharking and a cheap move.

Personally I think it was frustration but he still shouldn’t be doing it. I also don’t think he missed the shot because of it but it may have got into his head “if” he noticed it

Thoughts ?

You linked to facebook.com, you need to link the video/post.

I saw it live and was thinking about it at the time. Could be, but this behavior is usual to the ones who do it, so, jf there are other aquard moments from Capito at other venues/tournaments we can say it was a shark type move. Or he was just nervous, it happens.

That's what I was thinking. I've done similar things myself. But the innerwebz warriors are all over it and preparing a fine noose.

Not showing nerves is not so easy in that situation.
I agree but surprised so many pros jumped on board quickly to give him abuse. “Scum move” “Fine him 2k “ just some of the comments out there on Facebook from pros!

I play 9 ball with a guy at a Fast Eddie’s in San Antonio. You can’t imagine what a pain in the ass he is. Everything is a distraction. I could stand at the other end of the room behind his back and he would still complain. I learn to shut everything out years ago and play in a vacuum A lot of people can’t. I think patting his had white the opponent is shooting is rude behavior for a professional if nothing else.

A guy on my league team once complained I sharked him because I got up and moved out of his direct line of sight...before he even got down on the shot! He was standing there sizing it up and I realized I was going to be directly behind the pocket (and the seats were close to the tables), so I moved. Then he blamed me when he dogged it.

When I'm in that chair and a player is facing me on a shot, the one thing I concentrate on is not moving a muscle.

Of course Pro's have a much better concentration level than I do, so maybe this stuff doesn't matter to Professionals?
Have some doubts, but if he did see it and chose to go ahead and fire away, its his fault for not standing back up and look his opponent straight in the eye. Maybe say something, or just stare.

The victim was very Professional with his comment on the issue.
Why put up a stink on this and this match. If we ever meet again I'll be prepared.

Nope. Just nerves. They asked Pijus and he said he didn't even see it.

To claim or assume these hand movements were not done intentionally to distract the shooter is being extremely generous and ignorant, especially for a player at this level.

He was in the process of getting out of his chair as the object ball was still approaching the intended pocket.

The Mosconi is pretty distracting, but the players just play.

its up to the players to adjust, much like they do when the shot clock starts to go off, or for the ref to say something.

A pool hall or arena is not a church.

If I'm playing weaker players, I get very polite about visual influence. I get out of their field of vision or if I notice too late, consciously remain still. Course <anything> plus or minus can get a player's attention. Capito's obviously on tude. TS baby, hasta luigui etc...
