Post Something!!

What the hell am I supposed to do at work if you guys don't have anything interesting to talk about?

Schlitz?!

Oh my... 😱

Those of us who actually grew up in the Milwaukee area used to refer to it without pronouncing the letter "L", for good reason… 😁
My grandad worked there for many years as an electrician. Retired in the early 80's. They were permitted to partake in their favorite company made beverage during breaks, it wasn't unusual for some to drink the entire workday. It was a different and better time, for reasons other than being able to drink at work. Some guys were even drinking at work in the 21st century, I even found a bottle or 2 stashed in the new tire inventory.

OK here’s my new olhausen 6 footer clothed in royal blue strachan super weave. I picked it up at the factory, brought it home and unloaded. Set it up start to finish by myself with online help from the guys over on fb at a great old school table mechanics page. It was my only table build ever at the age of 60. It plays absolutely perfect and is the funnest table I’ve ever played on. I’m old, single and somewhat retired living in a smaller rental apartment. It is fun!
And a cheap ( probably Chinese made ) 20 dollar cue that I “customized “ to my liking and plays as good as any cue ive ever had.
I’m a hobby player now that played just under shortstop level nine ball since the 80’s. I’ve owned many brands of cues and tables but wouldn’t trade this setup for anything at my place in life. Enjoy

Yep.

My grandfather was the general manager of a small brewery in Appleton Wisconsin.

One of my first jobs was pushing the broom at the brewery during the summer. 10 years old. On a break, they would bring me a short beer from the tap room.

A little beer for a little guy…

The first tavern where I ever had a beer and shot pool was directly across the street. Owned by Steeler football player Rocky Bleier's parents. Back then a 10 year old could get a beer as long as his grandpa said it was OK.

As you said, a different time and place…
