Happens to be coming to my neighborhood next week, at Winni Bar & Billiards in Laconia NH. What’s the idea behind this format? Seems to be 16 players established partners with good added money. Will the players be mic’ed? Why this format I wonder…

Anyway I’ll stop by (with camera of course) for some of this — it’s a rare opportunity to see top women play up here in the northeast!

No WPBA fans today?
There seldom are any on here, nor do their events get much mention. They do nothing to come on here to promote it. Below them.

I thought the Laconia event was a very small invitational/regional. That looks to have a better turnout than their event a week or two back at Raxx.

Too bad their event at Surge in Chicago got canceled. I was maybe going to be up there around that time.

You in Laconia area? Know if they have done anything with the Balsams, yet!?

I wonder how they determined the partners. Seems like pretty good money up for grabs, so players would care about who their partner is…

I am in the Laconia area actually — about a half hour south of there. The Balsams I know of is way up at the top of NH — one of the old grand hotels. I stayed there one night about 40 years ago 😁😁

These former and current members of the WPBA ( Women’s Professional Billiards Association) will be competing in the first annual “Scotch doubles 10-ball event” at Winni Bar and Billiards in Laconia.
This 8-team field will be competing for a $30,000 purse on Thursday through Saturday, June 13-15. Match times are scheduled from Noon to 6 pm on Thursday, and 2 pm to 8 pm on Friday and Saturday. The final match is tentatively scheduled for 6pn Saturday, June 15th.

As a bonus, the Margate Resort, across the way from the Winni, will be hosting a 3 day “Meet and Greet” with these ladies. You will have the chance to challenge them to some pool and have a chance to win a custom pool cue, a diamond pool table and other sponsor prizes to be announced in the future. This will kick off Weds at 2 pm and run through Friday. Here is your chance to get up close and personal with these athletes. We are pleased to be able to bring another fun activity during biker week and hope you can take advantage of this unique event.

My hunch says that Team 4 is the best one, but a few teams can win this.

Is this event going to be streamed?

Losers side matches Starts 2pm EST
Hot seat 6pm EST

I went yesterday for the day -- caught 3 rounds, including the hot seat match. It was an interesting format, with the scotch doubles and fairly short races to 6 (10-Ball). My one suggestion would be to mic the players. Because of the partner consulting (coaching -- but these are peers), and no shot clock, matches took longer than they normally would. But if they were mic'ed, and you could rent ear pieces to hear their conversations, that would make that part that slowed things down the best part about it! They could feed the mic conversations to the live stream too. Anyway, of course I got tons of photos. I am going to try to get back for the finals, which are scheduled for 6 tonight.
