Anyone ever get the YIPS?

Inability to land a dangerous gymnastic routine knowing you will land on your feet and not on your head or spine. Give her nothing short of amazing credit. Smart responsible young woman, setting a great example in a sport where risk unfortunately is not taken seriously, young girls have no fear. Simone was a adult, 100% admiration.
Yes I know this. seems the terms are so um, flexible.

I can’t tell anyone what it’s like, makes you want to die not being able to function how your mind wants too. But you know your family will suffer more than you did alive.

I wanted to clarify something here....... I only used the word "yips" because I was using the Jon Lester "can't throw to first" situation as a comparison. That's the word they used to describe his situation.

It may not be the most appropriate use of the word, but that's all I heard at the time was "yips, yips yips". I am not a doctor or a psychologist lol. Just using a word in a common way that it is used.

I’d have to review Jon Lester’s situation. He could throw to home but couldn’t throw to first. That sounds very much like the yips.

Chuck Knoblauch for sure had the yips. His body couldn’t remember how to throw to first base. If was brutal to watch . Tino Martinez was the unsung hero.

A couple of catchers had the yips. There’s a few videos where you can see the two stages of yips where they just cant throw the ball back to the mound. So you see a freeze and hesitation, and then you see an odd mechanical motion just so they could release the ball and get it out of their life.

The great Stephen Hendry had the yips, and it’s the reason he quit playing snooker at the professional level after dominating for a decade. His body forgot how to shoot certain shots.
