A trick shot artist was on America’s Got Talent

I talked with Florian after he filmed this and AGT kinda screwed him over. He was promised 3 tables so he could have shots set up on each instead of having to set the shots up, which takes time. AGT only provided 1. He had to take his one hour show and condense that into a couple of minutes. Anyone who has seen his full show in person knows that he does a very entertaining show with a lot of difficult shots.
AGT is BS. If you win a measly million dollars, you get that spread out over 20 years of something like that. I'm sure they have a hand in your contracts for a period of time as well. They give unknown talent exposure for sure, but at what cost in the long run. You are making a deal with the devil in my opinion.

AGT and many of those reality shows fell off the cliff last decade. Simon Cowell was entertaining in early years of AI, AGT but now he is a bore. The rest of AGT teams are has beens, Heidi overstayed her welcome. The worse is that clown Howie- can't stand that guy. Reality shows are just vehicles for nobodies, has beens, retirees and sadly will still be around for sometime. They are dirt cheap programming compared to the 7 to 8 figures per episode for live action series. That may be why the grandfather of reality shows, Survivor is still around.

Salute to AGT judge Simon Cowell.

Looks like he is giving middle finger to Simon
He’s an entertaining dude for a bunch of pool players but pool doesn’t have that audience on A national level to appreciate or understand what he’s doing. Personally trick shots have never done anything for me.. friends send me videos all the time and I don’t even watch them lol
It's easy to get bored with such stage managed stuff that Florian is doing. Much like those magic shows David Blaine Copperfield etc-

The highlight video helped him a lot.

If you watched it live it was horrible. You can tell they cut the audition. The judges were saying it took took too long and boring.

My guess is the multiple attempts at a shot.

It’s like the slam dunk contest. The guy missses the first time and keeps trying. Eventually when he makes the dunk the audience is underwhelmed. We already knew what you were attempting without having to see it attempted over and over again.

Ditch the rack too. Hitting a ball towards a rack assisted shot is not impressive. This goes to all tricksters.

He made every shot on the first attempt. It took too long because he didn't have the 3 tables he was promised to set up shots on so he could just got table to table.

Then why was he heavily booed at?

Either he missed or those shots weren’t impressive to begin with.

He hit a masse around Heidi that was assisted by a rack.

The crowd wasn’t impressed.

I get the same. Once my friends found out I play they start sending me videos.

I would respond back by telling them that is a different discipline because they think I should somehow do the same.

Semih is great and I enjoy all of those, but I will argue that Florian took it to another level. He was the first I ever saw to do multiple massé, take a table to the desert, use no cloth, and don't forget the multiple tiny table. He doesn't restrain himself with a set of rules and thinks outside the box. It's entertainment and enjoyable to watch for those special magic moments.

They want a singer or someone who is guaranteed to sell tickets in Vegas. At the end of the day, he was never going to win it. So the exposure for his APA league and YouTube channel is worth getting on the show.

Miniature golf doesn’t reflect on golf
Acrobats using trampolines to do flips and somersaults while dunking basketballs don’t reflect on the game of basketball
Artistic pool doesn’t reflect on the game of pool
Why would I be humiliated? Nope!

Because they are used to everything being over the top and/or are not pool people. Using the rack to assist guarantees you make the shot.

He does his show at a pool room in from of 150 people and it brings the house down. Do it in front of AGT judges and it doesn't work for them.

Before people think I am hating, I think he is talented and trick shot is an art and skill.

The general public just doesn't know what they are looking at which doesn't translate well over.

I think in order to impress the masses you have to do something to impress them. It may impress pool players but not the audience of AGT.

I didn't realize people still watched television. Surely these must be the same folks who write checks at the grocery store?
Yea its a luxury to watch television now.

I'm on my 70" television and I watch football while most of my friends are at restaurants with family and watching on their phones. I can stream the phone to the TV too.

We're going backwards. LOL

Just like exercise and working out. I tell my fat friends its really easy and they say they have no time. Working out has become a luxury now too. While people are working and using their free time to do something else, I have the luxury to work on my body. Also, they have made it ok to be yourself. Fat is ok.

Crazy times.

Bring back The Gong Show!
Hitting the gong is a polite way to say someone sucks.

AGT is pretty brutal when the audience is booing for a show that is suppose to cheer people on. They tamed the booing down. They don't encourage it. ROFL

Even the judges are afraid to tell the contestants, "No".

Ohh I agree you have to have the right crowd. I do shows all around and sometimes the best crowds are "non pool" people. However, this is AGT and they expect over the top performances. I remember Florian told me that the judges wanted there to more more flare and maybe even fire and such. But hey, for a night, something pool related was in the main stream and viewed by millions of people.

Venom’s act didn’t work with the AGT format. Even I got bored last night. He is great on YouTube, but I don’t see him as a resident Vegas act. He would need to figure out how to make trick shots have the same appeal as slight of hand magic. Pool players will be impressed, but non-pool players will think this stuff is just interesting.
