Try looking for Vasticola Burl. It's gorgeous.There are lots of unique indigenous species. No Rosewoods in Australia though. But you can find some amazing woods and burls. How readily available they are when you're on a visit I can't comment on.
Tulip wood is a Rosewood (Dalbergia Decipularis/Frutescens) and comes from northern Brazil.Isnt tulipwood also grown in australia?
I know nothing about the laws over there but you might be able to just mail some to yourself the day before you come back. I've never had wood from overseas shipped to me but had plenty of rough gems mailed to me.Going to Australia, any interesting wood I can bring home? I am partial to burls and ""Rosewoods"
