European Open 2024, Aug. 6-11, Fulda, Germany

Krause did not play his best match. Second worst of the tournament. Woodward gave him too many gifts early. Seems like he always gets off to a bad start if he gets late into a MR tourney.

Credit to Krause for a big bank shot late to regain control. His biggest flaw is his nerves get to him the further he gets in a tourney. Chua won’t hurt himself like Sky did.

he definitely wasn't the same player he was on the youtube table yesterday. if it hadn't been for sky getting involved with the ref i don't think he would have won

SVB and Sky both played terrible. Night and day from yesterday with their energy levels. Maybe had too much fun or too little fun last night.

Krause played a strange draw, right? Those balls out of ordinary position play seem to be his week foot.

yea he plays some positions weird. fundamentals are solid though, and as JJ says he banks good. has opted for offence over safety many times now with straightbacks and cross side banks. i like that grab the bull by the horn aspect of his game.

broke dry now, 7-2. chua needs to get going.

yea nah he is REALLY off. chua doesn't miss those normally. pressure or cold, don't know which, but he hasn't got going

8-2

.... Matchroom really need to fix their camera work. They keep missing shots.
I don't think the video production team is from Matchroom. I think it is from a sports broadcaster like Sky Sports. Matchroom does not have enough events to keep a production team on the payroll.

But I agree. Some of the camera changes have been very irritating.

A tale of two Chua's. He was superb in his semi vs SVB but could not come close to that level in the final.

In the other semi, Skyler simply dug too deep a hole for himself, and by the time he found his game, it was two late vs Krause.

All the credit to Mickey Krause, the deserving champion, who outplayed them all to win his first major. He qualified for the Reyes Cup and looks pretty good for a Team Europe spot at the upcoming Mosconi Cup. Well played!

Krause played well, but his final four opponents all shot themselves in the foot repeatedly. Ouschan, Chung, Woodward and Chua made a lot of mistakes and let Krause get out to big leads. He is a very, very good front runner and stays aggressive.

Krause is fortunate that Woodward pulled off the comeback against Gorst. Fedor seemed primed to win another major. I doubt he would’ve made the same mistakes.

Krause has gotten so much better, but he still has some holes to fill. Be interesting to if he keeps it up.

krause won 13-8. he played well in the final. chua didn't play up to his standards
Mickey gets the trophy, gets the spot in the Reyes Cup, and gets the girl….

Even if you know who wins...
You gotta watch the 2 semifinals and the final.

Solid proof that even top pros dog it.

Van Boening missed 3 nine balls and Skylar looked bad as well.

Chua played flawless versus SVB and looked like a dog versus Krause.

With the tighter pockets the minute these top guys get out of line they look very human either shooting a road shot to get back in line or settling for successive tougher shots.

I hope Matchroom just takes over all of pool because this is how it is done.
