Fedor vs SVB score

He sure did. A wasted 11 game lead near the end of the match, he crumbled like a month old cookie. Very similar to what happened to Earl in his match with Efren in Hong Kong.
The 11-game lead was after Game 189, and Gorst was still 10 games ahead 17 games later at 98-108. Then Shane went 22-8 from there, without any big B&R package, and assisted by Gorst fouling 9 times in that stretch.

Indeed. Gorst hit a wall. Lots of unforced errors. He was playing magnificently before that, up til 2am or so.

The original flyer stated 100K was posted for the match. I assume that meant both sides posted 50k.
What I read said "100k in the middle" which is a bit vague. The presumption would be that each side posted 50k, but then why the whole production? What do the players get out of it? I suspect, with no direct knowledge, that each side also got some cut from the tickets/streaming, which might have been part of that 100k in the middle or paid separately (for the same net effect).

Humans need more than 3-4 hours of sleep a night over 72 hours. Just watch the finals of the last couple of Derby City's or International Opens to see how it drastically affects the performance of _young_ players (Gorst and Filler for examples).
They do but I have gone 3-4 days on less sleep than that, its just something that happens sometimes. Its also the same for all of the competitors, its not like 1 guy is sleep deprived and the other is getting 10 hours per night.

And performed at the highest level in the world of a sport? I think not.

Fedor said he went home and got good sleep between the days. Watch the first little interview by Molina Mike (Window's Open Facebook) of Fedor during the match.

Some time back at DCC, I watched a match between Alex and Shane for $40K race to 100 over three days. It was 35/70 then finish at 100. On day one Alex was breaking with him at 34/26. He broke dry and Shane ran the first day set out for 35/34 lead. He came day two with a 9 pack. OUCHEY. Final score 100/82. Alex never gambled again with SVB in rotation games to my knowledge. My point here is SVB is so dangerous in 10 ball for sure that it takes the likes of Fedor to play him these long races. Did anyone do a numerical analysis the match?

SVB picked up his pace at around 112/111. At the end he looked like the 24 year old and Fedor looked tired and wasted. I believe SVB is in the best pool playing shape of his career. This will be a great year performing for him IMO.

"Did anyone do a numerical analysis the match?"
Yes, just page back a ways. A lot of stats

it seems a shame to me that a better break can mean a better overall player.

or even be the deciding factor in long matches

i just wish the break would be more a luck factor in the game to make it more exciting in general.
The break also matters in 8 ball and 1P, so what do you suggest? There’s still plenty of luck in those 10 ball breaks. They don’t use a template in 1P and there’s plenty of bad breaks and good ones even by the very best 1P players like Tony.

yes in both those games the best breaker doesn't effect the outcome very much. because it is easy to break well and a great break doesnt give a big edge in each game. and each rack is a little different breaking to.
